Well, if there isn't a big pile of tranni fluid on the floor it gets hard. 1. Bad radiator letting tranni fluid into the cooling system. 2. Tranni fluid slowing escaping through axle shafts. 3. a leak someplace from the tranni or tranni lines.

If the transmission took on water, chances are simply changing the filter and fluid wont really help. When you changed the filter you probably only replaced 4 or 5 quarts of fluid, your transmission could hold anywhere from 9 - 14 quarts of fluid total (depending on which model transmission you have). You're going to want to get a full transmission flush. With water involved, you may have also knocked out a shift solenoid (or more), there's also a possibility of damage to the bands and gears inside. Best thing I can recommend is to get it to a garage that does transmission service and request a flush (make sure you tell them what happened) With it being a 95 it most likely isn't an OBD2 diagnostic system (but it could be depending on how late in the year it was built) if you have a check engine light on and it is OBD2 there's a chance a code reader might tell you if it is a solenoid. No check engine light; start with a flush and go from there.
Unfortunately transmissions are tricky monsters that sometimes require a specialist to diagnose and fix... I hope this helps, good luck

1989 Buick Regal Limited Transmission Fluid?

I'm not sure I am following your problem.
A transmission holds 10-15 quarts including the torque converter. When you drain the fluid you are changing about 4 quarts of the full amount.
Once you fill the transmission to the full mark on the dipstick, you should not be adding more fluid unless there is a leak. Or if the vac modulator is damaged and allowing fluid to be pulled into the engine. The fluid is checked with the engine running in park.

TRANSMISSION WONT GO INTO GEAR ON MY 2004 CADILLAC DEVILLE HOW MANY QUARTS DOES IT TAKE TO RE-FILL TRANSMISSION AFTER CHANGING OUT FILTERS

3 GALLONS is a lot,Are you sure it's not 3 quarts, which isn't enough. If it is gallons then drain it out because you going to damage the pump, if it is quarts then keep adding until it shows up on the dipstick at the bottom, then after it has been driven add as needed to get it to the full mark. ONLY use dexron fluid!!!!

How much transmission fluid should be put in a 1995 cutlass ciera?

If you are just draining the pan and replacing the filter it will hold around 6 quarts. However the total capacity on the THM125C transmission is 7 Quarts. On the 4T60-E transmission it is 13.4 quarts. My advice if you wish to replace it all is to have it done by a professional. If you are just draining the pan and replacing the filter then park on level surface, add 5.5 quarts and then start the engine and let the transmission reach full operating temperature. Add enough to reach the full mark. Do not overfill! Use Dexron 3 A/T fluid.

How much tranamission fluid does my 1997 sable hold

If you have your owners manual, there is a section containing the capacities for all fluids. You may also simply check your fluid level, with a running motor and warm transmission. If the stick indicates add, start with a 1/4 quart and work your way up. Unless there is a problem with the trans, there is no real reason to ever add fluid unless your are flushing the transmission.

Does a mercedes benz 2007 350 CLK convertiable have a 722.9 transmission? would you use BG ATF synthetic auto transmission fluid in this model at the 40 thousand mile trans service?

If you don't have synthetic in it now I woundn't, because you can not get all the fluid out with a regular transmission fluid change. Your transmission holds 14 to 15 quarts and when they do a fluid and filter change they replace about 5 quarts from the system.

No drive on a 1999 olds alero

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID SOUND LIKE VECHICLE SLIPPING DUE TO LACK OF FLUID. CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID ON DIP STICK. WHILE ENGINE COLD FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK SHOULD FULL MARK.CRANK ENGINE LET VECHICLE IDLE TO WARM.THEN HOLD FOOT ON BRAKE SHIFT THROUGH ALL GEARS FEW TIMES CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU GET TO FULL MARK.IF YOU HAVE THE TRANSMISSION WITH NO DIP STICK.YOU NEED TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER. YOU NEED 7 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.BUY DEALERSHIP TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET ITS THICKER MADE DIFFERENT WONT LEAK FLUID. THE TRANSMISSION GASKETS AT AUTO PARTS STORES TOO THIN LEAK FLUID BAD.
