SOURCE: replace valve cover gaskets on subaru svx

I don't have experience with this engine but guess you won't have to remove it for valve cover gasket work but perhaps can lift it a bit [not by hand!] after loosening engine mounts.

2001 Pontiac grand am 2.4L Large oil puddle on ground and drips on road. The pan and gasket look OK, could it be the oil pressure sensor?

it could be the sensor but it could also be front or rear seal or head gasket. the presure sensor would only leak with it running, normally. some models hade a oil level sensor in the pan, check that as well.
you will need to clean off the engine and check all the way around it. it may not be a bad idea to have a local shop put some dye in your engine and find the leak that way. it could even just be a valve cover gasket

Replacing the valve cover gasket on a gm 3800

support engine and remove front engine mounts, you'll have to remove your upper intake and some EVAP hoses, some other parts mounted to your intake and your ignition module from the rear valve cover the bolts should be either 8mm or 10mm, make sure to clean the valve cover of all old gasket material before reinstalling with new gaskets!

98 Grand Am Valve Cover Removal?

Remove the coil assy. then remove the valve cover bolts, remove the 10 mm bolts from the timing cover, if you look between the 2 cam gears you will see 3 bolts each side, remove them and the valve covers are off.

Can not find timming marks on cam gears

Ther are none. It takes a tool to hold the cams in place while the valve cover is removed. Get a chilton book from the library.
