Recharge the system through the low side fitting, with the engine running you will need to have 25-30 psi on the low side gage, add freon a little at a time until this pressure is reached with the engine running and the compressor engaged.

Where do I add the new r 410a refridgerant on 2004 Pontiac vibe?

410a cannot be used in a automotive system it will cause damage to your compressor, other other a/c components.
410a is used for home use only.as a substitute for R-22
see below definition.

Although the United States Environmental Protection Agency has mandated that R-22 along with other hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) be phased-out in the United States, few window-mounted air conditioners are available that use R-410A. However, all of the largest central air conditioning systems manufacturers in the United States offer R-410A. As an alternative to window-mounted systems, a ductless "split" system is available which uses R-410A refrigerant, and can be installed with a 3-inch hole through the wall (or window opening).[4] R-410A has replaced R-22 as the preferred refrigerant for use in residential and commercial air conditioners in Japan and Europe.
Parts designed specifically for R-410A must be used as R-410A operates at higher pressures[5] than other refrigerants. Thus R-410A systems require service personnel to use different tools, equipment, safety standards and techniques.[6] Equipment manufacturers are aware of these changes and require the certification of professionals installing R-410A systems. In addition the AC&R Safety Coalition has been created to help educate professionals about R-41-A system.
manufactures recommendations for vehicle

NOTE:
  • R-134a is the only approved refrigerant for use in this vehicle. The use of any other refrigerant may result in poor system performance or component failure.
  • To avoid system damage use only R-134a dedicated tools when servicing the A/C system.
  • Use only Polyalkylene Glycol Synthetic Refrigerant Oil (PAG) for internal circulation through the R-134a A/C system and only 525 viscosity mineral oil on fitting threads and O-rings. If lubricants other than those specified are used, compressor failure and/or fitting seizure may result.
  • R-12 refrigerant and R-134a refrigerant must never be mixed, even in the smallest of amounts, as they are incompatible with each other. If the refrigerants are mixed, compressor failure is likely to occur. Refer to the manufacturer instructions included with the service equipment before servicing.

How do you recharge the air conditioning system for a 97 cadillac

Just get an R134a recharge kit, and follow the instructions.

The kit contains canisters of oil and R134a and a hose with a gauge on it.

Add about 2 or 3 cans of refrigerant on a system where the refrigerant leaked out.

One may also want to add leak sealer. which comes in a can like the pure 134a.

Rear air condition is not working, only the front

No there is only one low and one high side service ports. You have a bad expansion valve on the rear a\c unit.To properly replace the valve, you must first recover the freon from the system. Then remove the cover over the rear unit. Then from under the vehicle remove the two a/c lines from the unit. Then remove mounting bolts and remove rear unit from vehicle. Then you remove the screws that hold the two halves of the case together. You will now see the expansion valve Use extreme care when removing the fittings from the valve. It is very easy to kink the copper lines.Reinstall in reverse order.Be sure to evacuate the system before recharging.

Air conditioning system is not colling the car ? what do Ineed to do ?

i need to know how is not cooling the car?
is the fan blowing air or is the blowing air not cold?
it probably isnt cold.lets try that.
put a set of 134a ac gauges on the system and verify pressures.if it has low freon you may hear the compressor turning on and off.if so for sure its low and you will just need to add freon.
go get a 134a fron fill kit not the conversion kit.
and begin to fill untill the comp stays on and air is blowing cold.then stop filling and enjoy.
do not over fill as this will cause it to not cool again.

99 Camry Air Conditioning Problem

Hello JulieCamry,
There is a resister board in your air box the lets the power flow into different coils to either slow your blower down or speed it up depending on what setting you have it on, When that board burns out you loose may be low Then Medium and then all you have left is High, and that should never burn out because it does not go thru the board for high, Now that should get you fixed on that, But your air conditioner R 134a Probably has a O-ring that has dry rotted and Needs to be serviced from your nearest automotive shop that does air conditioning Should be a fairly Easy fix if the shop does Quality Air Condition Work, The R 134a will probably be the most expensive thing to have done. I sure Hope I helped you out. And for the circuit Board for the Fan Speed that should be A Simple fix as well. Thanks For Asking, anything else Just ask bear001
