Question about 1986 Dodge Ramcharger
The power stering pump, when turning, puts a load on the engine. the rpm must be maintained when this occurs. idle control circuits must be inspected. ensure spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor are in good shape. perform a tune up if it has not been done in a while. typically 20,000-30,000 miles. check the egr system. a partially open egr valve could cause low rpm. change the air filter if dirty. check the fuel pressure for proper psi.
