My 03 Kia Spectra will not go into gear. I want to change the transmission fluid but don't know where it is located. I can see the dip stick but not where to put new fluid in.

The fluid is drained by removing the transmission pan located under the car. make sure you buy a transmission filter kit so you can change the filter and gasket. the trans fluid is added to the dipstick tube, where you have located the dipstick.

I had the same problem and discovered it was a blown 15amp fuse in the fuse box next to the drivers left leg

2004 kia spectra with automatic transmission was slow to engage, now it jerks while in gear and kills engine.

I have the same problem, I'm cureenlty going to try Step one and, Replace the Transmission Fluid,

I'm doing this becuase, the Kia Spectra need a special transmission Fluid that the last owner or person might not have put in.

Number two reason is because from my knowledge old transimission fluid will do this also.

Do it yourself to save money search it up on google, thats how i learned.

What type of oil does my 2003 kia spectra take?

You can use 5W 30 (what the manual requests), but these other oils will also work well with that car. I have tried them all and have more than 200,000 miles on my 03 Kia Spectra. The car has no mechanical issues. . . 10W 30, 10W 40. I use 10W 40 in the summer. The trick is to frequently change oil regardless of type and not let the oil go more than about 4,000 miles without an oil and filter change. That is the key to long life for these small motors. If you do that you NEVER will need to flush the motor and I would recommend you never use a commercial motor flush product. If the engine oil gets so dirty you think a flush is needed, then instead use a quart of transmission fluid, drive it for two weeks or 200 miles, then change the oil.

00' Kia Spectra. Change auto transmission fluid

You would need to take the pan off to access the "filter" but you would be ok just to do an oil change. Unless there is a problem auto boxes are very clean inside.

I was driving and the transmission seemed to go into neutral. Then it seemed to go back into gear, but only 2nd.

Take to Kia right away...They have a 10 year 100k mile power train warrenty. Let them have the headache.
