any noise associated with the clutch when you depress the pedal?

  • cliff_zell May 29, 2010

No, noise... No pedal. I replaced the slave cylinder last year. Any chance that would have went bad already?

  • David Jones May 29, 2010

Hello there: I would start out by checking for leaks around the master cylinder and slave cylinder. would also check all transmission lines and also ensure that the clutch fork is working properly.Another good thing to check would also be the throw out bearing and clutch plate and also the pressure plate.

I have a 2001 mitsubishi challenger manual which is sticky to put in and out of gears sometimes not letting me access a gear I have to find one then easy again

Try putting pressure on the gear shift while letting out the clutch. When you feel the gear shift move a little push the clutch back in.

Why is my chevy s10 gears are getting harder to put in ?

I would look to see if the clutch master cylinder is low. It is smaller but like the brake master cylinder. If so check to see if the slave cylinder on the bell housing is leaking or the master cylinder is leaking. Low fluid or no adjustment will make it hard to get in gear.

Suzuki won"t shift into gear unless I turn the car off and put it into first

make your adjustment to clutch, see how that works, but start saving up for a new clutch, or just have your inspection mechanic, take a look @ it for you, make the adjustment, and he can remove a cover and inspect the condition of your clutch with his own eyes. its a lot easyier for him than you. then, you'll know for sure. good luck

I am unable to put my 2001 Ford Escape xls into gear! When I push the clutch pedal down all the way to the Floor and try to enter a gear it will not go at all. I had issues with it in the morning it did...

that is your clutch pump/cable in not functioning. u need to check the fluid level (if your car using hydraulic clutch) or your clutch cable broke...

The clutch fluid is leaking on my truck and it won't go into gear right.

You need to fix the Leak in your hydraulic system to your clutch on your transmission. The reason that your transmission is not going  in to gear right is that the fluid is to low to push the throw out bearing to disengage the clutch fully.
Once the fluid get's too low, you'll not be able to disengage the clutch to put it in to gear or change gear.
Check the fluid level to your hydraulic clutch reservoir and fill to the right level and fix the leak in the hydraulic lines.
Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, glad to help.

2003 chevy s-10 want start sometimes

there is a clutch switch on the end of clutch peddle this is for safety reasons so you dont launch into lets say your house if it was in gear when you tried to start the truck without pushing in the clutch .i dont recommend bypassing the switch though there are two wires that go to it if put together that will bypass the switch.

MY TRUCK WILL GO INTO REVERSE BUT NOT INTO DRIVE?

fisrt gear clutch is burned out , if you push the truck with a car up to 30 mph and drop it into drive you will get 2nd and 3rd , but when you stop you have nothing. if first gear clutch burns up you don't get any forward gears.
