on the tube between the firewall and the a/c compressor. On some Fords the low pressure port is on the dryera/c low pressure quick disconnect location? - 2_bing.gif (aluminium cylinder). Good news is the low pressure and high pressure port are different sizes. You cannot mess it up.

Remember the flow for the a/c system is :
1. From the compressor a high pressure (HP) gas goes to the condenser in front of the radiator.
2. From the condenser a HP2_bing.gif liquid goes to an expansion device (orifice tube or expansion valve)
3. From expansion device the low pressure gas enters the firewall to the evaporator.
4. From evaporator the low pressure liquid/gas mixture goes through the dryer back to the compressor suction

High and low pressure switches

The high pressure switch is usually located on the a/c compressor. If pressure gets to high on the high side the switch will open and turn off the a/c compressor. It is a normally closed switch. The low pressure switch is usually located on the lager of the two lines, or on/near the accumulator (also known as the receiver drier). It's function is to turn off the a/c compressor if pressure gets to low. It is a normally open switch that requires a minimum pressure in order to close.

Where is the connection for the gages to put in freon

The high-pressure service gauge port valve is located on the A/C manifold and tube.

The low pressure service gauge port valve is located on the suction accumulator/drier

They will have caps over them that unscrew.

If your doing this with an over the counter tool you need to connect to the low side.

Hope this helped.

Where is the a/c drain line location for a 1999 ford expedition?

There is no A/C drain line. The A/C refrigerant is removed or added by way of the low pressure port. The low pressure port usually has a black or blue cap with L written on the top. Find the large diameter tube leading from the compressor back to the firewall. Sometimes the port is on or near the compressor or on the accumulator neat the firewall and is not on the large diameter tube. Make sure you have the low pressure port. Connect to the high pressure port and the can may explode so make sure you have the correct port.

Low pressure hose cooling system

on my 2000 expedition it is located on top of the compressor. The compressor is barrel shapped and silver and has a belt attached to it. There are 2 ports on the air compressor, one low and one high. When charging your air conditioner the gauge will only attach to the low pressure.

Where is the low pressure ac port on an 1999 ford expedition 5.4l

If you find the big round silver thing (reciever/dryer) it is in it or in the same line nearby. Probably area of passenger side close to firewall. The low pressure side is the larger of the tubes.

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

I need to find the service port for the a/c system on a 1999 Ford Expedition. The one up front and high will not allow the service quick-disconnect hose to connect.

do not try to fill through the high pressure port.

The low pressure port is on the side of the accumulator/drier. Please rate as solved if this is what you need.
