SOURCE: How do I add coolant to the air conditioning

You need to locate the low port on the AC.

You recharge the AC connecting to the low port.

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor. Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.
You can follow the compressor line to reach the port.

To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports , often covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the line that is cold will lead you to the low port.

SOURCE: add refrigerant

is the system empty? the common leak on this engine is the AC compressor front shaft seal, the charging port is about center of the firewall on the larger of the two AC lines, the system holds 1.88 (21/4 12 ounce cans) pounds of R134

SOURCE: where do you add the air conditioning refrigerant

You should never attempt to replace refrigerant unless being certified. R134A is very toxic not only to yourself but to the environment if not properly added. Spend the money and take it to a repair shop, its cheap.

SOURCE: can not find fitting to add r-134a refrigerant to

You will find the low presser service port on the A/C accumulator which is located on the frame, driver's side. Just follow the low A/C line from the compressor to the Accumulator and you'll be good to go. Here s a link to help you find it.

R-134a should be used, but you should also put the kind that has more oil than normal so that your compressor and all gets oiled.

first find and fix the leak in the system or you will be wasting gas
gas is added via the suction line point at the compressor and is added until a set pressure is achieved in the system
really it works out to be cheaper to have an accredited ac specialist shop do the job

How do you recharge the air conditioning system for a 97 cadillac

Just get an R134a recharge kit, and follow the instructions.

The kit contains canisters of oil and R134a and a hose with a gauge on it.

Add about 2 or 3 cans of refrigerant on a system where the refrigerant leaked out.

One may also want to add leak sealer. which comes in a can like the pure 134a.

The clock is most likely dead, but can be refurbished at a decent price by www.subaru-clock.com. If you email "Dr.Clock" (as he calls himself) he may be able to assist you with some removal tips. This "dead" clock condition is very common in the Camry, Corolla, Matrix lines.
