Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek
I was wondering if were possible to change the EGR valve on my 2001 pontiac. I found the EGR, but am not sure how to go about disconnecting and reconnecting a new one. It is buried behind the engine block. Any help would be greatly appreciated
The location of the EGR valve makes its replacement tough. There are many surrounding parts that have to be removed. You need to remove the transaxle dipstick and tube assembly. The EGR valve is attached to it and in order to take it off, you have to remove the air box so that you can reach the bottom of the dipstick tube, which is behind the engine. I think you'll find it difficult to replace the EGR valve on your own.
