Our 07 Equinox only has 39,300 miles on it. I can

Our 07 Equinox only has 39,300 miles on it. I can press the brake pedal all the way to the floor when I am stopped at a light. I suspect a master cylinder going out. What do you think?

If the fluid level is good or you see seepage from where the master is mounted, you are likely correct. If fluid is low, check all lines and fittings, calipers etc for signs of leaks as well.

Change oil light remains on

Turn your car's ignition key to 'On', but don't start it. Press the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times. Your car should beep. That will reset the oil change counter, which reminds you to change the oil (I think every 5000 miles). If your car doesn't beep after pressing the gas pedal, it could be the brake pedal that you have to press, I don't really remember.

2 possible solutions. Try holding in the odometer reset while restarting the engine or, Hold foot down on the accelerator pedal to the floor. Keep it held. Turn on the ignition (so dash lights come on) and with accelerator still pressed, press the brake pedal hard 3 times. One of these 2 options should reset it.

While driving my 1994 Honda Accord the brakes went out. I can only get the car to stop if I press the brake pedal all the way down to the floor. When the car is shut off and I pump the brake pedal, I can...

There may be air in the lines. Bleed all your brakes starting at the farthest wheel from the resevoir, and finishing at the closest one. Try the pedal after its bled. If the pedal still feels soft or travels to the floor there may be a pinhole leak that may be spraying on the underbody of the car, or the seals in the master cylinder are gone filling the vacuum booster(if equipped). Air compresses more than oil so if bleeding works that may be the problem.

This will be in the rear, right? The rear are what gives you brake pedal height,so check the rear, this is the most likely cause.

07 Equinox will not go into gear. Push on brake

Does the shifter feel like it did before? Is it looser than it was, a little more free, shifter cable could have come loose under there. Or, your tranny decided to keel over.
