Fill it with the gas can and then go to a gas station. Your gas can can't be much bigger than 5 gallons, there's very few that are larger because they get heavy. Your gas tank is vastly more than 5 gallons, probably 15 or more in an Envoy.

Find out the tank size (it will be in the owner's manual).

Divide tank gallons by 4 to determine how many gallons in a 1/4 tank.
Multiply 1/4 gallons by 3.7854 to determine number of liters in a 1/4 tank.

watch your fuel gauge they don't always read true they work on ohms if bottom of rod is worn the float isn't making good contact

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE FUEL PUMP AT GAS STATION IS FLOWING FAST AND FUEL ISANT GETTING INTO THE TANK FAST ENOUGH SO THE PUMP SHUTS OFF TO PREVENT SPILLAGE

there is a book publish by the govnt or minister of transport on the exact milage as well if you know how many liters or gallons go in your tank like 80 liters and the gas is 1.00 a liter it cost $80 for 80 liters on a full tank you do 500 km but make sure proper conditions of 100km a hour tires all proper equal pressure the wind is also a facture there is a lot involved to calculate your gas proformance as well if you had a oil change done latly you can find out on a govt site for gas consuption or consumers report

The rear tank is rated 22 gallons, the side tank is rated 19.5 gallons (actual usable capacities are about 1/2 gallon less than posted capacity).

Your owner's manual will have that info. On '97 Chevy Lumina 3.1 holds 61 litres... according to the manual.

Its possible that you are interesting to get the 1998 Chevroler Lumina - Owners Manual, there mentioned 16.6 gallons...

The 7.3 is the only diesel engine available for that year and model, so if it's a diesel, yes, it's the 7.3. Gas engine availability was the 4.9 (in 2 wd only), 5.8, and 7.5-all these are gas engines.************************* I believe you have dual tanks? They should hold 17 to 18 gallons each.
