There is actually a difference in the production line. Just you to be exact, correct, and precise, you need to buy the 2003 echo manual. They are on ebay cheap.

Well, like I previously indicated in my response. You want to be as accurate as possible about your car when it comes to fixing or replacing something. but if there is not difference as you are telling me, then you should have no problems performing any operation on the car following the instructions in the manual. Its just a matter of accuracy.

    Hope that helps.

Where can i buy a repair manual for a 2003 expedition

If you prefer an up to date manual, I would suggest using the on-line service manual for your vehicle through the All Data web site at www.Alldata.com. At a cost of roughly $30 dollars a year you will have access to all the latest repair specifications, recalls and factory service bullitens. I subscribe for both my vehicles and it is a great service resource.

If you want the actual factory service manuals hard copy, checkout www.helminc.com

How can I test the coolant temperature sensor on a 2003 Toyota Echo so that I can make sure whether or not it's working properly? Thanks for your kind reply.

Use a multimeter to check. unplug the sensor and replace it with multimeter. As the coolant warms you should see a voltage change. I don't know the exact figures you should see but it works on voltage change to close and open the circuit, hope it helps.

Replace spark plugs with plat core plug

Platinum plugs are NOT recommended for the Echo. The heat ranges are different. Put the right plugs in it (buy them from a Toyota dealer) and see if your problem vanishes. I get this quite a bit, customers put in new plugs, and it runs worse than it did before they changed the plugs. Note that ALL Toyota engines have a specific plug engineered for each engine. Platinums do not work unless the engine was designed for it. Same with iridium and NO Toyota runs well on the "split fire" plugs. If the problem persidts, change the coils around, see if the misfire "moves" to a new location, and you get a DTC P-0300, P-0301 and P-0302. If so, your coil pack may have failed, BUT, do the plugs first.
