The location is on a bracket near the upper part of the brake pedal arm (above the pedal).
It's a rectangular box with a harness plugged into it and it has a plunger that depresses when the brake is not being applied.

Mounted somewhere on the brake pedal lever, or possibly a pressure switch on the master cylinder, depending on the vehicle.

SOURCE: how to replace rear brake pads on 2005 jeep liberty

put the back of car on jack stands and secure the front tires so it does not roll and then remove the bolts off the back of the caliper there is normally two one at top and one at bottom and spray it with some kind of oil for rust and make sure you have the right size socket before you try to loosen them and once caliper is off and the old pads removed take one of the old pads and squeeze the piston on the caliper back in by using a "C" clamp and also remove some of the brake fluid from the master cylinder before you do this put the new ones back on and check the brake fluid and make sure it is full and then pump the brakes to make sure you have a good pedal also put some "No Squeak" brake stop on the back of the pads so they don't squeak they will have that where you buy the pads from

SOURCE: Where is the brake lamp

The brake light switch is located under the dash attached to the brake pedal assembly. I assume that the issue you are having is that the brake light do not come on when the pedal is depressed. If you are trying to get the "BRAKE" light on the dash to go off then it is more like a bigger issue.

2005 jeep liberty brake lights don't work, none of them but fuses and brake light switch are good.

maybe brake light switch located near your brake petal needs adjusting...its simply a push button that the brake petal hits as the brake petal is depressed usually u can just pull on them toward you and they'll "self-adjust" after pressing on brake petal...push on brake petal with ur hand and make sure this button is depressed while the pedal is down...

The two back brake lights went out at the same time but the brake light on top of the rear window still works, would the problem be the bulbs or a fuse? 2005 Jeep Liberty

Both of my brakelights have gone out on my 2005 jeep liberty. The problem is the brakelight socket. I bought replacement socket from the dealership for about $8 each. They are wireless and easy to replace. They sit on a circuit monted to the back of the tailight. The dealership will need your vin # as there are different types of sockets for the liberty.
