I would suggest checking the fuse box first. You might be able to fix the problem by changing the burned fuse for less than a buck.

Hope that helps. Let me know if that works or if you have more questions.

Window replacement in a 2000 hyundai tiburon?

Had the same problem and the motor is pricey. We went to a junk yard and found the same car and bought the door. We took it to a local small mechanic and he took the one and replaced it to ours. Never had another problem with the window, If you can find the same card in a junk yard it would be the cheapest way. hope that helps.

Drivers side window won't go up or down

Solution will be:

1. Fuse (if there's a fuse that controls only that window...unlikely)
2. Switch. (if the switch on the door in question nor the driver's side control wont work, it's not the switch.)
3. Motor (this is the hardest of the 3 to fix, and it probably the most likely cause)

If it's the motor, I would try to find one from a junk yard and then pay somoene reputable to put it on. Buying it at the junk yard will save you some cash, but paying someone to install it will be well worth the avoided headaches! There's just not much room to work within a door panel and I've spent hours replacing one on my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer.

Good luck!

I have a 1999 Buick Century. My windows will not go up or down. I checked my fuses and that seems fine, but my window control console on my driver side door was broken and I think it is stuck in the lock...

You might be able to get that switch really cheap at a junk yard, there's a chance you might have to buy more than one to find one that works (if you pull the part yourself you may get it cheaper, but make sure to avoid cars with door damage) but if they're cheap enough it might be worth a try. The down side is you probably won't be able to return a non-working switch at a junk yard either.

I have a 2001 gms truck with manual windows and i want to put power windows in how do i do this

Get a good wiring diagram for that year so you can put the wire on the fuse box correctly. Then if you are taken the power windows out of a junk yard vehicle, write down every bit of information that you think you might forget, then put the regulator and motor in the way that you took it out of the other vehicle. It is easier that way and cheaper, and they last probably as long as you will own the vehicle. In most cases the vehicle was set up for it at the factory anyway and doesn't have any trouble matching it up. The interior is a different might want to grab the panels at the junk yard...just for fun, I left my manual cranks on the door...they don't work, just for looks, but a conversation piece, once in a while.

Driver windows tend to work more due to its on the driver side and tend to fail before others. New window switch is fairly cheap, the motor I would get it from a junk yard or you can get both from a junk yard. check all fuse and relay first. test the switch or replace it before you start tearing the door cover off. working and replacing the door motor is not an easy task on the ledgend.

I have a 1983 Olds Delta 88. The electric window on the front driver's side doesn't work. The other windows do. On the door console with the switches, can I hot wire something with the other wires to...

Is there an option to replace the window motor?  Perhaps a junk yard has one that you could pick up for pretty cheap, or AutoZone would carry it.
