There are 3 screws holding it in. But, you have to remove lower center console (4 attachments, 2 on each side), then remove center trim above console, then remove glove box, then remove 2 ft long steel brace beow glove box, then remove blower. 2 hour job. one screw is hidden by carpet, pull carpet outward for access.

you could just be low on freon. Add 1 can & see what happens.
Usually the rear works but not the front. I'm assuming the blower works back there.

It could also be the rear control for hot/cold. You can get an assembly at slavage yard for $10.

i have an extra if you find that is the failure.

it could be the electronic blend door motor. Try not changing any settings for a week and see if the fuse blows. Leave it on floor/defrost.

usually it is the bearing in the blower motor going bad. I believe it's a 25 amp fuse. The motor draws about one amp for each volt increase up to 14 volts.

My 1999 mercury villager heater is not blowing hot air

you have air trapped in the heater cores, front and back. You need to burp system or take to a shop and have them flush cooling system and use their vacuum system to purge the air. Should cost $60. Make sure they have vacuum system.

Or go to our site and read file on how to burp air from cooling system.
