Question about 1999 Toyota 4Runner
I don't know if their is a scheduled maintenance reminder light on those but the check engine light will only come on if their is a problem with the engine, the OBDII senses problem and sets code

Have a dealer or garage check your Oxygen (O2) sensor. As a quick fix, try disconnecting and reconnecting your car battery. Sometimes this will reset the check engine light.Good Luck!

YES!!, you had it tuned, it runs good, but gas mileage dropped, and check engine light is on,it sounds like the o2 sensors are slow or even dead, i would replace them for sure and that just might solve all your problems,good luck, hope this helps.

There is no standard interval for the CE/MIL light. You need to get the codes scanned at a local AP store to see what codes you have.

Yes - any parts store will check the OBD codes for free and tell you the problem.
