It is not probably a big problem
most vehcles have that same problem, most time it is just the sensor and nothing will be wrong with your motor at all
I think that is a faulty wiring in all vehicles because our truck keeps that light on now and we still have been driving it for 5 yrs. we were told it was just our sensor. which I think it needs to sense the right thing.

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you take the car in to a reputable mechanic and conduct an engine scan. If the check engine light is on, something is surely wrong. During the diagnostic, it will list the trouble codes and by then you'll know what part needs replacement. This is wiser than taking a guess on what to replace.

From the little information you have given me i would quess that the brushes inside your starter are going bad you may have someone check your starter!!

I wash 1999 Toyota Corolla CE the other day and at


remove the spark plug wires and use a blow gun to dry the spark plug tubes of any water that may have gotten in, the blinking engine light means there is a missfire. and check those fuses with the headlights on and see if they have power.
