The water pump to the 5SFE 2.2L 4cylinder in your car is on the engine's left side (looking at it from right in front. To find it is simple. Just look for the coolant lines leading from the radiator. One to your right that's easy to see and touch, if you look down, to your bottom left, there's another big line and if you follow that one, you'll see it leads right to the water pump's inlet.
buy a repair manual, because you have to take a few things off to replace the water pump including the timing belt, which should also be replaced.gmjim

Repeat water pump failure. 1994 Buick Lesabre.original pump had bearing failure. 1st new pump shaft failure."no longer carried in stores". 2nd pump bearing failure. and now my 3rd pump starting...

If your car requires dex cool, than that is what you need to use. If not then don't. Different coolant types each have different lubricants for the pump. Have you checked the belt tension? Changed hoses?Made sure pump is receiving water?

When do I replace the timing belt and water pump on a pontiac 2008 G6?

The timing belt last for a while. Probabbly change between 100,000-120,000. The water pump dont need changed until it is broke. When so, your heat wont work or your car will overheat.

I am unable to replace my timing belt on my 2001 PT Cruiser I have 120,000 miles on my car.....Can it make it to 122,000??? I am trying to get the money together as we speak........Do you know???

some people dont bother to change the belt at all(NOT RECCOMMENDED) so, as long as you dont redline it in every gear,it could go on for a lot longer(i hope...)
feedback??

I bought a 98 Dakota, it started over heating, I changed the thermostat, and when I went to flush my radiator, it was plugged. Can they put something in the radiator to temporarily make the car run good?...

Drain the coolant when it is cold and pull off the upper and lower radiator hose. Put a garden hose in the radiator neck (after removing the radiator cap) and turn the water up gradually and let it run for 15 to 20 minutes or until the flow is constant. If your water pump is not noisy or leaking and the pulley is not wobbling then you should not have to replace the water pump. You may want to flush out the block with water also. Belt needed replacing and was advised to get time belt changed at the same time. Also stated I had small leak in my water pump. Dealership also recommended to have ECM cleaned and trans fluid flushed.

ECM CLEANED???? that sounds like some scam. It will need the timing belt replaced, and the water pump at the same time. You dont mention what engine and mileage? But if the water pump leaks, get it all done. Find a Independent Shop that works on Toyota.

I need directions to change my water pump

drain engine coolant.relieve belt tension .and remove the drive belt.remove upper fan shroud.remove fan or fan and clutch assembly.remove water pump pulley and coolant hoses from water pump.remove water pump bolts.then remove pump from engine.pay attention to bolts location because they are different lenghts.clean water pump gasket mounting surface dont scratch .or pump gasket wont seal and leak .apply sealant to water pump bolts.install water pump with new gasket.if gasket paper put a sealant on it.torque water pump bolts to 30 ft lbs.if you got a 2.2L engine torque water pump bolts to 18 ft lbs.install coolant hoses on pump .install water pump pulley.install fan and fan clutch assembly.install the drive belt .and the upper fan shroud.fill the radiator with coolant.then run engine to check for leaks.WARNING AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE SO CAR WONT BE CRANK BY ACCIDENT. ALSOOOO DONT FORGET TO TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY SO YOU WONT LOSE YOUR RADIO CODE.
