My one peice belt broke on the motor the car overheated
After putting a new belt on the tempercer gauge is still saying overheating ,eventho the car sat overnite,soon as you start the car it reads overheating,runs good no signs of overheating,but the tempercer gauge is still saying overheating,no water pump problem,no low coolant lite,no thermostat bubbling in the hose I,m stuck

Probly not. Unless the pump is run by it's own belt which broke. Usually , a pump is good till it starts leaking all over the place.
Please explain overheating problem more. Is it while you are driving , or when you are stoped in trafic. Does it heat up and overheat very quickly after you start the car. Is it really overheating , or is your guage just showing overheat.
Need to know what caused the overheating, possible broken serpentine belt, thermostat, water pump, radiator, fan clutch, cooling fan motor. After motor has cooled down fill radiator with water till full, look make sure serpentine belt not broke, start engine run about 5 minutes, turn off, let sit 3 minutes, start engine look at temperture gauge is it over half way of gauge, Do you have a fan blade driven by water pump or electric fans?
It sounds to me like the serpetine belt broke, DO NOT continue to drive it. The water pump (for engine cooling), the power steering pump, and the alternator (electrical system) are no longer operating. Have it towed to a shop or have someone put a new belt on it.
Is the car actually overheating or are you just getting a red temp symbol on the dash? What does your temp gauge say? If it is indeed overheating and they did replace all the parts you say they did, they probably didn't bleed the cooling system properly. If any air is trapped in the system, it will cause a overheat condition. Take it back and tell them to bleed it right. Make sure they tightened up your radiator overflow/fill bottle cap as well...turn it until it "snaps". Now if the car is not physically overheating, and the temp gauge shows normal with the needle straight up (~190F), but you show a red temp symbol on the dash, your coolant level sensor in the overflow/fill bottle cap could be defective, the harness that plugs into it could be loose and/or your coolant level is too high. Lower the level until it is in the cross-hatch area printed on the bottle and reseat the connector. If it still has the red temp symbol, chances are very good the sensor in the bottle went bad. Mine went bad on my 04 Jetta 2.0 and I got a constant red symbol on the dash. Hope this helps you out.
If its the 3.1L it could be your intake manifold gasket , the material used for the gasket does not react well with GM's Dex-Cool antifreeze. The leak may not be apparent at first, but I would pressure test the cooling system. If you look at the front of the motor by the belts , try to peek down at the intake manifold and check for slight seapage to an obvious leak.
If its either of the Quad-4's they were notorious for heads warping or cracking.
