Question about 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

2001 Chrysler Town and Country has 149,000 miles. Had rear brakes put on and rotors turned, now going down road you might get a ****/hesitation and then when you put on brakes to stop it does a lot of jerking like it's going to stop running completely. Runs great going down highway except for occasional jerking and when stopping.

Hard to say without a visual inspection. Have them rechecked by the shop that did the install. You may need new rotors. The rotors may have been cut beyond discard allowance,

Torque for pyutting new rear brakes and rotors on a 2006 Town&Cou


Caliper mounting bracket bolts 125 ft, Caliper guide pins/bolts 26 ft, Brake hose to caliper 35 ft. Wheel lug nuts 100 ft. Wheel speed sensor 115in lbs*** This is for disc rear brakes Teves system. You do know that the rear disc is a Rotor/Drum. The parking brake shoes ride on the inside.

2006 Town & country makes clicking sound when breaking. Sounds as if coming from passenger side. Checked the front brakes & they're fine. They were repaced with new brakes & rotors 2500 miles...


As Chrysler says You may experience the following when the brake system go into Anti-lock.....The clicking of solenoid valves. When they changed the brakes did they damaged the ABS wheel speed sensor. It is mounted on the front axle on the back side of the brakes. Sensor & harness are one piece & must be replace toghter

The pulsating can be one of 2 problems, they feel very different, unfortunately, I can not feel what you feel, so here goes. One problem could be with your abs system, possibly diagnosed with an OBD II reader, the other could be warped rotors, but not likely since you replaced. Good Luck! Two more cases of 2008 town and country brake wear


Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler minivans are notorious for poor longevity of the front brake pads. Also, the low friction material "squeel" tabs are none to brake off or just not do the job they are meant to do. That is why people end up haveing to replace their rotors. I am an ASE certified mechanic with just under 15 years of experience. I tell all my customers with Chrysler minivan products to have their brakes at least once a year to avoid costly repair bills. If you can catch your brake pads before they start grinding into the rotors that's an expense everyone can afford to not have.

if you on a hill set the e brake then put in park. then when u wont to go again put foot on brake and release the e brake and put in gear try that and see i think this will help u

Early wear on front brakes /rotors for 2008 Town and Country


I work for a brake repair shop and trust me you are not alone.Enterprise and alot of other people bought the same van and had the same trouble.I hate to say but it doesnt stop there.About every 14 to 15 thousand miles you have to replace the front pads.As of now they dont have an upgrade,for instance ceramic pads, but I am sure they will very soon

Ok, i'm assuming your replacing them, there is an oval rubber stopper on the backside of the rotor, in the backing plate, located near the bottom. it will tighten or loosen the e-brake shoes inside the rotor, loosen them all the way off, then get a big hammer and give them a really good smack, be carefull not to damage the wheel studs, if your reusing them hit on the hat of the rotor, if replacing you can hit right on the rotor face.
Use some antiseize on the hub before installin your new rotors, and don't forget to readjust your
e-brake and reinstall the rubber plug

Put new cliper brake then 3 mile rotor make hot why


Under normal use, rotors get hot, espcially in stop-and-go traffic.  Is the rotor hotter than others?  Don't touch them!  If the rotor is hotter than the others, then the pads are dragging.  If you did the work, re-check that caliper.  If not, take it back where you had the work done.
