Engine bogs down when ac kicks on

Engine bogs down and nearly stalls sometimes when ac kicks on. Sometimes the AC will not turn on unless it is off prior to the vehicle is started

Car will stall when ac turns on?

Given that the condition only occurs now when the AC is active, I would say the issue is likely with the AC. If the compressor is bad, or there is some other issue causing resistance with the AC system, it can really load the engine and drag it down. Also, the AC compressor uses a lot of electrical current which can load the system as well, making the engine work harder. Try disconnecting the connector to the AC compressor clutch and see if the problem still persists. If it goes away, you know your problem is with the AC system. Honestly, by the sound of things, you might be better off without the AC in that vehicle if that's what it comes to. AC systems are often more expensive than people expect to repair. Not to mention there are a lot of components to the system and you need specialized equipment, and sometimes a special license to work on it. For those reasons I don't recommend the DIY do AC work themselves. written by EricCG

I am working on an 05 trailblazer with a 4.2L. Last week I put an alternator on it and today when I put the ac on it would big Down at idle and would even stall sometimes. I remove the ac relay so the

if truck runs normal until u put on a/c- the a/c compressor could probably be seizing causing the engine to bog down -if u are able to get a set of gauges to hook up to or run a/c and feel the a/c lines for cooling if no cooling affect or the compressor i turning spuratically than compressor is bad and causing ur bog/stall problems

85 nissan doesnt seem to b getting feul all the time

Check or replace the fuel pump control unit, common problem on the 720 models. It is in the right kick panel near the glove box. The part costs about $60 from Nissan.
There was also a recall on the ECM relay-causing surging, bucking, stalling, instruments go crazy. Relay is in the box at right rear of engine compartment.
Have you replaced the fuel filter and checked the air filter?

Please check voltage at the crank sensor with key turned on. Should be at least 4.5 volts. Also check tone ring at sensor. rotate engine to observe all teeth. There should be one tooth missing and no chipped teeth, debris, or other issue that could corrupt the signal. Backprobe the signal wire and measure the signal with your voltmeter set to AC. The AC voltage should increase with engine RPM.
Sorry, but I cannot find the wiring diagram for the crank sensor. If possible and especially if the reference voltage at the sensor connector is wrong, trace the sensor wires back to the PCM to see if there is an open or short in the wiring. Please let me know what you find out.

A/c issue 2006 sante fe

The AC unti is driven by a belt coming from the crankshaft. The belt is attached to the ac compressor which has a clutch unit that is suppose to let the compresser pully spin freely. by the sounds of your problem you might need a new pully/clutch for your ac compressor
