I believe it is the Turn Signal Lever on your steering column. You will need to test it to determine if that is the culprit.

Lost cruise control. Fuse is ok and all wires appear connected. Local shop says they can't find anything wrong. Where can I go to find a comprehensive shop manual?

it could be a connection in the signal arm... my signal arm was broken and i went to the junk yard and grabbed a different switch that was not the same as original but did come from a cadillac similar... and my cruise doesn't work. different in signal switch arms. the cruise control switches were different and therefore the connection was incorrect.

What is the location of the electronic flasher relay on a 95 Oldsmobile Achieva

Your Olds has 2 flasher relays. One for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights.
The turn signal flasher relay is located on the driver's side, under the dash, mounted on the steering column.

My cruise control was working then while cruising I would use the turn signal and thecruise would kick off eventually it quit working at all.I looked in my Haynes book but could not find anything on the...

Good chance that the controller on your turn signal has gone bad since you started having cruise control issues when you used it to activate your turn signal. You can pick one up at Auto Zone and they will have the step by step instructions for you to replace the turn signal arm with the cruise control switch. it takes about 30 min to replace with common tools.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck

My cruise control just quit on my 97 olds. how do

First check the fuse in the fuse box. It also sounds like you may have a wire in the column that is shorting out. you may have to replace the turn lever.
