If the car was retro fitted with R134a this was a common problem. There was a low side pressure sensor that needs to be changed. R134a runs different pressures than the r12.. When you go down the road the condenser cools off the system and the pressure drops below the minimum pressure. You need to make sure that the system is fully charged, not just cold to the feel. Both pipes coming out of the firewall need to be the same temp. this makes sure that the evaporator is flooded.
I hope this helped. Re-post if you need more info. Have a nice day and good luck.

Air conditioner cycles on/off,

Sounds like you have a possible leak at thee Evaperator Coil just before the Fan Control Box. This is creating low pressure in the system and thee system low pressure switch is shutting the compressor off to protect it from locking up. Take it to a Mechanic you trust and have a system pressure check done. It may just be a neoprene seal at one of thee conections(a common problem).

I have a 99 gmc truck and the a/c cuts off while driving down the road, replace control head, high pressure switch and low pressure switch and the a/c compressor relay any suggestions

Did you change the orfice tube,it should be found somewhere in the front around the radiator. It may be clogged.Do you live in hot climate, then change it for sure.

Cooling fan not coming on where would the

Pressure switch is most likely located on the receiver/dryer.
If the fan is failing, there is low pressure in the a/c system.

Clutch on compressor will work sometime than quit go down a bumpy road starts working again. is it the interruptor switch?

There is no interrupter switch on the a/c system. The only reasons that the clutch wouldn't engage is
1.- there is a short in wire to clutch
2.- the freon level is to low
3.- the low side pressure switch has failed
4.- the compressor clutch is going out
Hope this helps you get this problem taken care of. Good luck.
