Temp control on driver's side.

2005 Impala. Problem with temp control on driver's side. Most of winter blowed cold air. Sometimes wld start blowing heat but you better not move the control off heat or you would't get it back. Now the a/c won't engage - just blows vent air. Someome said it was probably the actuator. Where is it located?

Does this still apply if it is blowing air but the air is just not the correct temperature?

The diverter that controls where the air goes has come out of adjustment. Usually accessible under the dash . Linkage connects externally. A vacuum hose may have come off or is leaking, or the cable has slipped.

2005 Impala, when I get to a stop, hot coolant temp message flashes and air gets warm, when I start driving the message turns off and air starts to blow cold again. Any ideas?

You sound like you are low on fluid or your thermosstate needs to be change to proper weather (winter or summer). Check it out. Hope you didn't use pure antifreeze ! 50/50 mix... or premixed.

Chevy 2005 impala

Driver's side defroster and heater vents blow cold air but the passenger side blows hot. Both sides should blow hot The temp is set any temp and it still does the same thing. It is winter so I don't know...

The doors that open and close in the heater control unit are ran by motors. It sounds like a motor has quit in yours. When turning on the defrosters the motor closes the door to the heat for the floor

My 2005 impala is only blowing heat on the passenger side of the car, the driver side blows cold air what could be the problem

Inside the venting which is located behind the dash board panel underneath. Behind temp controls and radio. Inside this venting, is a couple different flaps that move to direct air to different locaitons of the car when you change the temp settings. THe flaps can get stuck or the little actuator that moves it can become faulty and will not move the air flap. You will have to manually take apart the venting system and ind the flap and actuator and see if you can manually move it. Check actuator to make sure it is not cracked or leaky or disconnected.

WHen we use the auto car starter, it blows cold air, and a lot of it. Its nearing the winter here in New England and I need to know how to set up the starter to blow warm air. Any ideas?

Start the vehcle and let it warm up then set all the controls to heater? Then turn off the car. Use the remote start to start the vehicle and check the controls are still set to heat mode.

A/C Heater problems

There is a motor that operates a door to change the air temp to the drivers side based on the setting of the temp control, it is called a blend door motor, there is a problem with the motor or the blend door is jammed and can't move.
