Question about 2005 Dodge Neon

Have a 2005 neon 2.0 sohc limping "wobbly cam gear" says mech

Have a 2005 neon 2.0 sohc limping missing backfiring under accel mechanic took off timing cover, belt is fine but the cam gear is "Wobbly" so the idea is a problem in the cam/valve/head assem. only 60k miles on it so wtf? apparently its expensive of course but i want to know more than just what the guy taking my money tells me. is there any chance its the bearings or whatever on the camshaft or is it a bent valve or broken v. spring? has anyone ever seen anything like this? I always use topshelf synthetic oil plus zmax and take good care of this car. it just had its 60k or thereabouts service and we found the sparkplug socket homeslice used still chillin by the hoodlatch, on the radiator, what else he forgot i don't know, maybe a couple bolts here or there? thanks for sharing your knowledge with me!

A spun cam bearing perhaps? which would probably mean new cam, new bearings, new head..... sorry but I am sort of agreeing with the mechanic.oh... not to laugh at your situation but the socket "chillin" on radiator comment... LOL

I have 2 engine codes on my 2005 dodge neon. they are p0325 and p0340. the car has problem starting and misses badly for a while. What is the problem and how do i fix it? thanx for the help!

the p0325 code pertains to a knock censor. the p0340 is for your cam shaft sensor. i've had this problem before. try replacing the cam shaft censor first and run the codes again to see if the other still comes up. it should fix the problem. hope this helps

Engine misfire on multiple cylinders

Do you have any codes besides P030x? Are you using the stock 1999 5.2 PCM? Do your short-term and long-term fuel trims show anything more than + or - 10? Are your O2 sensors showing normal voltages? You give a long (and impressive) list of modifications, but have you had diagnostics run through the PCM. It is what's controlling timing and fuel delivery. If the problem isn't mechanical it's got to be in the control. If you don't have the gear, invest in the services of an experienced ASE certified mechanic.

Gear shift is loose and wobbles

Under the car on the on the gear shift lever is a spring this spring is ether missing or broken. Get under the car look in between the drivers seat area and the shift mechanism, maybe part of the spring is still hanging there. If not go to a local auto salvage yard and try to see where they fit.

'83 Monte Carlo - Miss fire at idle/accel./driving

You can have car put on scope and it wll show any irregularities in the ignition system. It can also be dowithout any equipment. First, loosing ALL 8 spark plug wires, Now place the spark plug wires loosly back on, just secure enough to secure. You might need 2 people. Being the miss is more consistant in gear, APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE , put trans into drive and raise rpm's till miss is obvious. Remove ONE plug wire at a time, TILL THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN MISS. Thats the cylinder missing. Start with the spark plug, inspect, work back to wires and cap. An EXTREME result will be NO COMPRESSION.
