Every 9,000 miles ( 14,000 km) and there is no need to flash the engine, just get the engine specified by the manufacturer.

2006 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L engine..........What does a complete tune-up consist of?

It depends how far you want to go. usually a tune up consists of an oil change, oil filter included, air filter change, and tire check and rotation. But a tune up could also include spark plug check and replacement/upgrade, spark plug wire replacement/upgrade, coolant flush, or even a transmission flush. It all depends on how far you want to go

My lifters are noisy and what would be the best oil additive to add to my oil to help with the noise 2001 mitsubishi galant

well first try flushing the engine with a motor flush incase the noise is from sticking lifters..than when you change the oil i recomend lucas oil not only improves the viscosity of the oil but coats the parts much better than any other additive ive ever seen

When to change timing belt on 2003 mitsubishi galant

Most timing belt suppliers recommend 50k to 60k miles for replacement. Your Galant has a interference engine meaning that if the belt fails your will incur major engine damage up to and including replacement of the entire engine.

So if you have over 60k miles on the car go ahead and change the belt, and while you have it apart replace the water pump.

My Mitsubishi Galant ES 2005 has completed 95000 kms. What necessary service and maintenance are required now...??

Timing belt for sure if old. I'd change all belts. An engine flush and radiator flush would be a good idea. If you've never had a tune up you might do so. Change plugs and wires yourself. A transmission service if you haven't had one in recent years.

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES and after checking my oil, my service engine soon light came on, it is time for an oil change, can this be the reason for the light or is it something more?

if your talking about the check engine light being on, no, it will not come on because of oil service time. you may of left something off. if the dipstick or oil cap is loose this could set a code.

2003 mitsubishi galant from last two oil change i notice it is consuming more oil and there is a smell from exust system it has 270000km on it

You could find that at the milage its done you might find that the piston rings and the valve seals have worn and over time have got to the point were the oil isent going to ease off.. but there is a slight thing you can do for a short time, is next time you change the oil put in 20W50 but whatever you do dont flush the engine out with flushing oil as then that will get rid of the carbon then you will be adding oil every day
Or you can remove engine and strip out and rebuild.
as a engine at 6years old done 270.000km when most people do 15,000km a year =90,000km max soits 180,000 more than most so its looking like a rebuild could be the ANSWER sorry mate
Let me know how you get on but change 20w50 first

100,000 mile service

Generally oil change and filter. Check/clean/ replace air filter. Plugs and/or leads. The tricky one is the timing belt. If it hasn't been changed to your knowledge then change it.( garage ) Brake pads and discs. Change as required. Coolant levels.

My 2003 Galant has a lound knocking noise when started on 50f and below freezing temps. It eventualy goes away after warming up to Normal running temp.

Sounds like in cold temperature there is a lack of oil to vital moving parts of engine. Try changing oil to a lighter weight for example 5w-30 or 10w-30. After doing this have oil pressure checked manually with a handheld guage and make sure there is good oil pressure in engine. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
