Question about 1995 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

I have a 95 Ford Mustang transmission rebuilt AOD-E/4R70W and the overdrive does not work when I step on the pedal at 60 MPH. It gets stuck at 60 mph and seems like the OD doesn't kick in. What could be the problem?

Check the transmission sensor connections. sounds like a connector not snapped in, or a dirty connection.

no the cat is failing or an o2 sensor nothing to do with tranny but as to the overdrive notify the tranny shop installer may or may not have improperly installed a wire or connection

Ford mustang was making a whine/ rattling noise while doing 20-60 mph then after driving 20 minutes she died at a stop sign, would start up fine in park, but died when we tried to shift, what is wrong

Automatic or stick ?
If its an automatic, it could be something in the torque converter or transmission. The torque converter clutch could be stuck.

Ford Explorer 1998 rebuilt transmission

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Did you flush the grit out of the transmission cooler and the lines to it? If not you may have ruined a new transmission.

Just had my 475 transmission rebuilt. Only ***** at 20 mph and 35mph. Shouldn't there be a third gear change at 45mph?

I assume it has overdrive, so yes it should go into lock-up at 40 then overdrive around 45 or 50 mph.

YOU HAVE A AOD,NOT AN AODE. YOU'RE AOD HAS A MANUAL THROTTLE VALVE CABLE WITH MANUAL OVERDRIVE SELECTIVE BY LINKAGE. AODE HAS ELECTRONIC OVERDRIVE ACTIVATED BT A BUTTON AND MORE INTERNAL ELECTRONICS,THIS ONE WON'T WORK. TRY GETTING A REBUILD ON IT,MAY BE CHEAPER WITH A WARRANTY! GO SOME WHERE RELIABLE THOUGH LIKE DEALER.

What automatic transmission is a code p in a 1996 mustang gt. I think iy is a tremec t56.

your car has a ford AOD-E if it's an automatic, if it were a 5 speed manual it would be a T-45, the T-56 is a 6 speed manual transmission that was found in the 2003 and 2004 cobra models.
