Nothing to it,large positive cable from battery to large post on the starter solenoid on the starter, top one,and all the other wires with the large hole in the terminal connector go there as well, the small wire(purple)goes to the small terminal on the inside ,towards the engine block,on the solenoid. You are ready to go.

Check the fuse-able link going to the cab portion of the firewall, check by gently pulling apart on the wires on either side of link.

How do I get to Flywheel on a 1985 chevy custom deluxe?? I replaced starter and still a funny sound coming from that general area like its missing teeth....I do not want to ruin the starter, so Im thinking...

Say Bill you are going to have to pull the transmission back to get to the fly wheel.. you might pull the starter back off and look up in there and see if there are damaged teeth on the flywheel. if it looks good you might have to go back to the parts store and get some spacers for your starter .. sometimes they have to be shimmed up to work properly .. hopefully this will help because the flywheel is first thing that goes on the engine before the torque converter then the transmission all come out . holler if i can help Jerry

1985 1/2 ton delux. Wont start. New battery, wires, plugs. Alternator is good, tank is full, fuel and oil are good. Carborator is good. What could it be?

1985 chevy custom delux pick up

You probably have a clogged fuel filter. There should be an inline fuel filter between the gas tank and motor, replace that and your good to go.
