I need to know what type of antifreeze goes in a 2004 Chevy Aveo?

Last time my dad flushed it and put antifreeze in it, it would not warm up all the way on cold days??

You need to bleed the coolant system of all the air. theres usually a little screw with a nut somewhere near the highest point of the cooling system. there can also be 2 coolant caps like on the ford probe gt

Did your dad bleed the air out of the coolijng system? suspect not. that is why no heater, below is how u do that.
The generic method of bleeding air from the cooling system is to use a floor jack and raise the front of the car as high as poss, then fill the coolant recovery tank full and run the engine until it just starts to overheat, high end of normal zone on gauge, then shut the engine down and run cold water over the radiator core, this will self bleed the system and the coolant will be pulled from the recovery tank, repeat as necessary, never let the recovery tank run dry or more air will be pulled into the cooling systeml

Ask him if he took the thermostat out. That could cause that problem or if it had one with too low of a setting allowing it to open too soon. It could also be stuck open.

We took off the breather cover on a 2004 chevy trailblazer and there was water in it

Sounds like you may have a bad valve cover gasket. same thing was happening on my wife's Chevy Aveo. Valve cover gasket was worn and when I replaced it and cleaned plug wells, issue was resolved. As for the breather, I really wouldn't know why there's water in there.Only thing I would suggest there is to check your antifreeze level. Is it water from the antifreeze?

once truck is warm check both heater core hoses to make sure they are both warm if not then check the cold water valve could be stuck shut not allowing coolant to travel in to heater core.
