There is a directional door actuator motor not working, and the dash will more than likely have to be pulled out into the front seats to replace the actuator motor.

My lexus rx 300 fan/ac is blowing on the wind-shield only and does not blow throuhg the instrument panel. what could be the cause?

How long have you been driving or owned a car? Your A/C is set on front "defrost" instead of main. Turn off the defroster for the front and select the switch to read "main" or if your A/C panel uses icons to display, press the one where it looks like the airflow is blowing air (represented by arrows) towards you and not the windshield. The arrows on your buttons or electronic display refer to which way the air is flowing. Choose the one you want where the arrows show the airflow is blowing out towards you and/or turn off your defroster. (If you have a knob to select airflow, turn it so it is no longer on "defrost" and it points to the main airflow blowing outward).

My heater will not switch to defrost

Check the vacuum lines in the engine compartment that go to the firewall if your A/C switches to defrost on your 1997 Cadillac Deville. Find an approx 1/4" rubber hose that goes into the firewall around the center of the firewall and trace it back to the motor and make sure it hasn't come loose. If not that, then it may have come loose at the a/c control panel. hope it can help you and good luck---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Defrost blows constantly? How do i fix it?

does it blow through the defrost vent only when you switch to vent/floor or does it blow through defrost and vent/floor? is it a switch that is just electric or a manual lever that you slide? the manual type will have that problem if the diverter or the linkage behind the lever(in the dash behind the panel......may be able to access underneath) becomes broken or disconnected so that the air is diverted to defrost regardless where you move it.if you can get to it, you will see what is broken or maybe a fastenerr fell off.

1996 ford mustang convertible ac blows cold only from defroster

Does it still blow out the floor and defrost when you set the switch to those positions or does it alway blow out the defrost no matter what? If you can get air to blow out to the floor, then it sounds like you lost the switch that controls the airflow to the vents. If it only blows out the defrost, then you probably lost the vacuum to all of the switches. When the vacuum is lost, it will only blow out the defrost. Check the smallest line on the vacuum distribution block located in the corner near the brake master cyclinder. That line provides the vacuum to control the direction of airflow within the cabin.

Defrost blows cold air

Sounds like you have a plenum door that is not opening when you go into defrost mode. You will have to check all your vacuum hoses and switching valves under the dash to see which one is not working. Hope this helps.
