If you have owners manual it will give you info on how to input the 4 digit code, the code will be on a card or in the manual for the radio, if you dont have these a good auto audio dealer should be able to code it for you

My 2004 hyundai has a check engine light on with a code p1520. I clear the code and it comes back on and my car goes into fail safe mode.

P1520 Generator Front Terminal Malfunction is what that code means. you need to fix that issue as clearing the code and not fixing it will just cause the check engine light to keep coming on.

i would suggest unhooking the battery. cleaning the terminals and hooking the battery up again... if you have an antitheft radio make sure you know the code and how to enter it before you unhook the battery.

Just changed the battery on my skoda fabia vrs

The easiest way to reset the computer coding system is to unhook your battery and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. If the code comes back on after starting your car then whatever is causing the code is still happening.

Beware that you will most likely need to know the code to unlock your radio if it has the theft protection built in where if power is unhooked from the radio the radio is locked until you follow the procedure outlined in your owners manual with a code to get it back working. If you don't have the code, your Volkswagen dealer can help you out as well.

unhooking your battery is not good on your computer mostly bmw because of all the components in your system are computer control so unhooking your battery is not a good idea..anyways you might check your owners manual it should have code..
