Check the Rotor and Cap, the one GM uses on this engine is not the best thing they've ever done. It is easily mis aligned when installing to be carefull, remove the manifold plenum cover for better access (it's the thing that says vortec on it.)

99 blazer hard to start and feels like it shudders and misses help

Could be a fuel pump problem where the check valve in the pump is letting fuel pressure drain back into the tank.
I would check base fuel pressure before and after cranking the engine.

Won't start

If it's backfiring through the intake, then more than likely it's a timing issue. The distributor cap has the cylinder numbers molded into it where the plug wires go... Make sure the wires are in the right spots. If that's good, then it's possible the distributor isn't lined up right.

89 K5 Blazer 350 TBI cranks but won't start... the rad hose blew, i fixed it then the next day it bogged and backfired, ran fine cold, but when warmed up it would lose power and stall when trying

Have you checked Google I found this hopefully it's not your timing or it may be flooded but doubtful have you tried spraying starting fluid into the intake while cranking it

Engine when cold sputters and backfires thru the intake

Sounds like the ignition timing is not right. Check to see if the timing belt has slipped (jumped a tooth) and that the belt is tensioned appropriately. Sometimes another pulley can be loose (such as the water pump having too much play) and this takes tension off the belt allowing slippage; look for any signs of belt scrubbing against the engine casing.

My 95 blazer 4.3 will not start, it cranks, has

Try replacing the fuel filter, but it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump. Your cold start pressure should be 62-65 psi and drop about 5 psi when the engine is running. Anything less then 62 psi is going to cause you to have starting issues, you can also test your fuel pump by blocking off the return line to see if you get 75-78 PSI. this is just a test to see if your fuel pump is still good. If you have less then that with the return line blocked off, replace your fuel pump but check your ground wire first. The ground wire is separate from the wire harness and grounded to the frame and a bad ground will give you a weak pump.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck

99 dodge ram 318 backfires thru exhust sometimes has new plugs wires cap and button

Backfiring is almost always a timing issue

Check and be sure that your have all the plug wires on the right plugs

Backfiring hard enough can break a crankshaft

1999 Chevy S10 cranks but wont start

A very common problem on the 99 S10 is a leaky fuel pressure regulator in the intake plenum. What happens is when the truck sits for a few hours or more the regulator leaks all of the fuel in the fuel injection system into the intake air plenum. This does 2 things, 1 it has no fuel pressure when starting and 2 it floods the air intake with raw fuel. Sometimes if you turn the key on wait 3 seconds then turn key off then turn key back on and just turn key to crank starter for a split second and wait 3 seconds.do this 3 times to repressurize fuel system then crank to start(you will hear fuel pump buzz each time you do this.also you may have leaky fuel injectors. Try to crank engine with the gas pedel to the floor. This will tell the computer to stop spraying fuel trhough the injectors and it will start. Joe ASE Master Tech
