The reason the radio/and or DVD player doesn't work is when the battery is disconnected it triggeres the theft lock in the player, this requires a code be inputed to correct the lock out, the code came with the car new on a card along with instructions to input the code, this was included in the owners paper work packet, this would include the ownwers manual and other information about the car, if u are not the original owner then u must contact the dealer, only the dealer has access to the information yu need to get the radio and deck working again..

if the DVD dosn't not work then you have some mechanical/electrical problem with the DVD player, they don't provide parts or repair manuals to the public so u must either remove the player and have it repaired or have the dealer do that, then it must be sent to an factory approved repair center. The sooner u do this the sooner u will have a DVD player to watch again.

well guess u won't be using the DVD player anytime soon, been doing this for 35 years pretty good at diagnosis, good luck.

Are you enter the right unlock theft code? You'are not the first person owns a DVD player which cannot play burned cds. Actually many cd player requires high quality cds. but i don't know whether burned cd will damage the player.

Any error code there? Keep in midn that the Radio and Nav have 2 separate unlock codes. If you bought the van new, you should have gotten the codes along with your paperwork. Two copies of the codes to be more precise.

If you bought your van used, the codes (one of the copies) should be stuck somewhere in the glove compartment or around there.

For lost radio (5 digit) or nav codes (4 digit) you can go to Honda's website to retrieve codes. You will need the vehicle's VIN, the radio or nav serial # and verification of ownership. If you bought the vehicle used, then you will have to call them.

Honda Radio and Nav Code Retrieval Website

In the US you can call Honda USA at 1-800-999-1009 and speak to a Honda rep.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Canada, you can call Honda Canada at 1-888-946-6329.
However they may tell you to call the dealership where the vehicle was purchased.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finding serial number for nav:
Note: For recovering a lost nav code, you will need the serial # of the nav unit. This is the unit under the driver's seat where you insert the nav dvd. Do NOT check the serial # on the nav display unit in the dash as this will not have a code associated with it!

Finding serial number for radio:
The serial # for the radio can be found on the unit itself by removing it from the dash.

The dealer will tell you they need to remove the unit from the dash to check the serial #. What they don't want you to know is that it can also be checked electronically WITHOUT removing it from the dash, so they can charge you labor!

Turn ignition to ON position,
Press and hold the the 1 and 6 preset buttons on the radio,
Now switch on the radio and you can toggle between two screens,
The first displays a U and the first four digits,
The second displays an L and last four digits.
Ignore the U and L; write down the eight digits...that's the unit's serial number!

Hope helped.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Car is completely dead electrically. Went to turn it the key, all the dashboard lights came on and when I went to turn the engine over thier was a click and then everything went dead.

connection problem, somewhere. check battery cables-both, and connection at starter, and the battery ground on the body. May need to remove the conn.'s, clean off corrosion and re-tighten. If that doesn't fix, then start at the power distribution center under hood (probably near battery) and check your main power relays and/or circuit breakers. Hope this helps.

1991 Lexus 400 - engine doesn't start - battery seems charged - 12.3 volts - makes clicking sound only - doesn't turn over at all.

Is it one click or multiple clicks. If it's multiple clicks, it sounds like a dead battery. Voltage isn't always an indicator of a good battery, you need to have enough cranking amps to be able to start an engine also. If you have dash lights and it only clicks once, you could have a bad starter. An easy way to check this is to try and jump start the vehicle. If it starts up with a jump start, you need a new battery. If it still doesn't start up and it just clicks, you probably need a new starter.

Good Luck!

Dvd player not working on 06 Honda Odyssey

The Honda dealer just wanted to replace my entertainment center without even troubleshooting and I wasn't convinced that it was "broken" so I found the FIXYA website and saw that others had the same problem and I followed their instructions and it now works fine. I am going to call the Honda dealer to complain because they should have known this.

We simply pulled the fuse out and put it back in and then reset the radio code!

DVD player in honda odyessy won't eject disc or play

the first thing to check is the fuse associated with the dvd player. If it is blown then that is probably your problem. The fact that it blew means there is an electrical short somewhere that will need to be fixed. Otherwise, you will continue to blow fuses. If it is not blown then pull it out for 30 seconds and replace. Then try to operate your DVD.
