It may be the fan motor reostat. It's located under the dash on the passenger side on the duct work. It kinda works like a dimmer switch.

Why does heat-air fan only work on high

Can you tell that the fan is getting higher or lower? Or is there no response from the fan control until you get to the high position?

Overheating impala

What you are describing is a lack of coolant flow in the engine or radiator, or lack of air flow thru the radiator.
If you are sure the coolant level is ok, and flow is good, I would check for a restriction in air flow thru the condenser and radiator.

If you have done this already, then bleed the cooling system, this is all you lack, just get the air out of the system, two bleed ports, one on the thermostat housing, and one on the engine near the water pump, just bleed them out as the car warms up,the thermostat bleeder last,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Ignition control module on a 2001 Chevy Impala

There is a switch relay that plugs behine the ignition switch cylinder. You would have to take apart the dash console to take it apart to replace it.Also helps solve a few problem on the 2001 chevrolet impala, with heat gauage not working and a/c not blowing cold air anymore.Replacing it, should fix the problem with that.

2001 Jeep Wrangler heater blower stopped working

Yes I would go with the switch, BUT, does it have a resistor bank? That is, how does it reduce the speed? Many systems use resistors to lower the speed. Burnt or bad connections can cause this as well.
You can test the blower motor by connecting direct power from a source like the cigarette lighter if you are handy.
Most of the time the lower speeds konk out but the high speed continues to work this is the resistor bank that goes out.
