If the block has cracked then the only cure is to replace the block.

Unsurprisingly, it's very expensive as the engine must be removed and totally stripped down and that often adds further expense as other faults are found.

Usually it's far cheaper and quicker to buy another engine from the breaker's yard, but try to ensure that you get a chance to see and hear it running first. 1994 Escorts aren't that common anymore, even at breaker's yards, so you may end up having to scrap the car and replace it completely but at least with the end of scrappage you can buy something similar with a full MOT for around £250 once more.

SOURCE: smell of antifreeze outside of truck when running

Have you checked your cap to make sure it's sealing and is there a leak under the vehicle at all? Even if you can see it there could be a leak hiding from you. I would rent a coolant pressure tester from autozone (Which is free after you return it) and test it while looking at all the areas on your engine coolant runs. This way you can find the leak if there is one. Good luck!

SOURCE: antifreeze/water leaking . puddle underneath van

May not be either. Does the van run hot? If it doesn't then the coolant when it is heated is going to the overflow reservoir and if that fills up then out the overflow line to the driveway or the garage floor but everything is O.K.

Water leaking from bottom left of 350 engine

Sounds like a bad freeze plug but running the heat should not affect it. A cracked block is unlikely unless it has been frozen with not enough antifreeze. Does it only leak when running or does it also leak sitting still?

Water in dipstick and check engine light comes on

usually whhen there is water or antifreeze showing up on your dipstick, most commonly the head is leaking, this is very bad. it could be a cylinder head gasket leak or worse a cracked or warped block or head. i would get it checked as soon as possible. if it is just a bad gasket then the cost is less(still expensive but less than the other two)
if you let it go too far it could get too hot and cause the head or block to crack or warp.

1999 chevy cavalier oils like milk in coffee, antifreeze leaked bad last winter, summer only drove 4-6 miles a week checked every time I went to store, used 1/3-1/2 gallon antifreeze, now getting cold out...

you're getting water in to your oil that's why its milky. could be a bad head gasket ,cracked head, or a cracked block, usually one of the last 2. better get it to a mechanic, if its the block it would probably be cheaper to replace the engine, it takes less time and most places charge 75-100 dollars an hour

My car recently shut off when i was driving in town. it did not have much oil in it and it had an oil leak i pushed it off the road and put oil in it but the car didn't start. i noticed the antifreeze tank...

Could be several things from radiator ,hoses, water pump, FREEZE PLUGS ,cracked head or block. You need to find out where the coolant is coming from to determine it.
If the car was hot and you poured fluid in it the block, head or head gasket could crack. If it was cold and you just had watr in it the block could crack or freeze plugs could have came out.

Overheated yesterday put antifreeze in bc it was almost empty did fine now its overheated again

Well Shelly the antifreeze is exiting the cooling system through a leak somewhere. Pouring more antifreeze in is not going to fix the leak. Often the leak is external to the engine and you can see a big puddle form on the ground where the car sits, common examples are burst hoses, leaking radiator, and a leaking heater core can create a wet mess on the passenger side floor. Other leaks such as bad gaskets and cracks in the head and block can cause the antifreeze to leak into the cylinders and lubrication system. First you must find out where the antifreeze is being lost, then figure out if the repair is worth it.

Heater blowing cold air

If there is a internal antifreeze leak, there will be antifreeze mixed in your oil. Check your oil. If there is antifreeze in there, you probably have a bad head or base gasket. Worst case scenario is your block is cracked somewhere. Check your heater core and the lines as well. If the heater core is bad it will be leaking.
Check the thermostat housing for a leak. Sometimes
the antifreeze will leak from there, and burn on top of the exhaust instead of dripping onto the ground. Good luck

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee losing antifreeze no leaks.

This is a hands on diag. If no leaks can be found then the coolant has to be going out the tailpipe. Chances are you have a cracked head or a cracked block. New gasget only temporarily sealed the crack. But then we are just guessing.

Antifreeze leaked out bad from the back and bottom of car.

If you have Antifreeze leaking from the back of your vehicle, and your referring to it leaking out of your tail pipe, then i feel for you highly, that could possibly mean warped heads, cracked heads, cracked block, your engine runs and does the natural breath in, Ignite, Breathe out of the Intake and if you have antifreeze in the Intake, then best start looking for a new engine. It would be too much trouble to go thru the current engine you have. If by some chance its not coming out of your tail-pipe, then there is something wrong with your car, And disregard what i have entered.
