run the fault codes first to see if there are any codes, next is to use the scanner to reset the ECM program
Lastly is to check the wiring circuit to ensure that you have not by-passed a control that stops the battery from going flat.
Lastly have a load test done on the battery because the gauge shows full voltage , batteries can fail under a load such as starting.

06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

Drove my 2008 G5 today no problem went to go out later and the key will not turn.

Hopefully you used the same key you had the first time. While you are gently pressing on the key in the ignition. Try pulling it out JUST a LITTLE to make sure it matches inside the key mechanism. Sometimes there is a button to push in somewhere around the key, before turning the key. Then turn the steering wheel a bit, it will click in a lock position before you put the key in. It will likely be some little thing that will make it work. Maybe your shifter lever is not quite in park or neutral. Good Luck.

2000 v40 Starting Problem

Sounds like the transmission interlock switch for the starting circuit is malfunctioning. It keeps the car from starting in gearshift position but park.
The interlock switch can be temporarily jumped out of the circuit to test if this alleviates the starting issue.
If it does, get repaired immediately since this is a safety feature.

New starter or Manual Positioning lever shifter?

you might have the shift lever a little loose and it isn't moving all the way into park. Look up under the dash and find the first joint that the lever is attached too and tighten up any loose bolts.
