Check to make certain you have connected the spark plug wires correctly to the distributor cap! They are NUMBERED. If you have them connected incorrectly, you will receive a misfire.

98 suzuki esteem. getting spark and gas but wont start it is a 1.6l motor and i cannot figure this one out any suggestions?

G16B engine, with mAF and is air density EFI.
sure they are all easy. if you know a few tricks
if spark is good x4 (after all it takes 4 to run), then try test fuel
my guess, is you never do 60k mile tune ups, this decade.?
the cam belt slipped and compression is not 170 but 80 PSI x4
and test fuel test ,fails.
right?

How many quarts of transmission fluid for a 1998 suzuki esteem 4w

no trans mission stated
auto or stick shifted?
the auto has 3 specs. on fluid.
  1. total rebuilt
  2. drained
  3. or new clutch and fill.
my wild guess , using this method. #2 DRAINED. only.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnac_the_Magnificent#/media/File:Carnac.jpg
guess 2, A/T box.

is ATF , automatic transmission fluid
on a drain, what comes out is UNKNOWN. by no man on earth.
think of a large sponge, (full of ATF)
and know that only 1/3 will comes out, the rest is in the SPONGE
and the BIG clutch (TC)
so what we do is measure what came out and put back what you found, assuming it was correct to start.
all A/T same answer, mostly.

the service manual lists those 3 ways.
and then says, volumes can very by normal variances in the building of the transmission.

I want to change the outer cv boots on a 2002 suzuki esteem with Manual tranny. We have take the tranny out as we are going to replace the clutch and release bearing. How should I change the cv boots?

your problem is that the boots are put on as they are assembled, so you need to take the joint apart to put the new boots on. it is cheaper to exchange the entire half shaft for a rebuilt one with new boot than to take them apart and put them back together.

alternatively most parts stores sell a couple different sizes of "split boots". these can be put on as they wrap around. surgical cleanliness is a necessity as they are glued on.

depending on the age of your shafts, you may want to go with new or rebuilt shafts to save yourself repeated labor next year.

1998 suzuki esteem 1.6 will not start HELP!

Having good fuel pressure is a plus (yours seems a bit high but I don't have specs) What you need to find out is if the injectors are opening and putting the fuel into the engine so it can work. Are the plugs wet with fuel or dry? Does it fire up if you spray carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking?

1998 Suzuki Esteem lost pressure and died while driving. Since then have changed battery, fuel pump and filter, and plugs. Was told plugs may not be of high enough quality to fire hot enough (?) or bad...

I am having the same problem. The garage suggested the crankshaft sensor but its an expensive part and if it doesn't work I am stuck with it. Did you get yours figured out?
