HI! Try replacing the fuel pump. The fuel pump may be faulty thats why it doesnt sip fuel from tank to the engine. Have it replaced and you'll be good. Hope this helps and have a good one!

    Sorry,
couldn't or more like wouldn't take dash apart and cut yellow wires or even break the dash security light (what a moron) I simple dragged the car to a repair shop and for $45 they reset the VTD (Vehicle Theft Deterant) and didn't have to pay $250 for a fuel pump or any added install costs. My mechanic says many shops like to have people come back again and again telling them that computer problems cause the more expensive sensors and other parts to fail. my wifes car was in and out in 15 minutes.

Is it out of gas? Try spraying starting fluid into the throttle body and see if it starts then. If so, you have a fuel delivery problem. If not, you have an electrical problem (no spark).

I have a 2001 Grand Prix. Last week my rpms

There are many possible issues here. It could just be that the idle is set too low. Could be weak spark, fuel delivery, charging system, etc... Get it to a mechanic to diagnose it for sure. They should do that for free at least.

2001 grand am 2.4 wont start and it is not the pass lock i changed the fuel filter and the pump comes on

did you install the fuel filter correctly for direction of flow.this can cause no fuel flow.there should be an arrow on the filter indicating the flow of fuel.also if this isn`t the problem then have the fuel pressure with a gauge and flow checked as if its not within specs the car won`t start.

2001 chevy blazer won't start, no fuel, replaced the filter, won't start, when primed runs until out of gas, I hear the fuel pump working, but no fuel, could the pump be bad and not enough...

Hi Ralph,
First let me say that Jeremy W's answer is absolutely correct.

However, I would like to take a moment to applaud you for your question. Most people would not bother to ask what the correct fuel pressure should be. YES! it is absolutely possible that the fuel pump motor could be spinning and not pumping fuel. This is WHY the fuel pressure should be checked, because this is the only true test that will tell you if your fuel pump is working correctly.

Then I would also like to add that if you find that the fuel pressure is correct, then this only eliminates your FUEL DELIVERY system. It does NOT eliminate your FUEL INJECTION system. It sounds pretty obvious that if it runs when you add fuel to the intake that the problem is definitely fuel-related though.

So if you find the fuel pressure to be OK, let us know and we can help you diagnose the fuel injection system.

You are going about this the right way---isolate the SYSTEM at fault first. Only then can you run pinpoint tests to determine the actual cause of the problem.

Drive on!

Check engine light on code read P302 miss fire #2 cilynder changed pluggs and wires problem contiuned.

I would check to see if maybe you have an injector or some kind of a fuel issue such as the fuel pulsation damper if it has one and or the pressure regulator.I don't want to try and pinpoint a solution since I would have to put a pressure test on the system to see where i stood as far as my fuel delivery pressure and for a possible leak in one of the injectors.I hope this gives you a reference point to start at.

Spray some starting fluid into the air intake for a couple seconds, then try to start. If it starts for a couple seconds and dies, you have a fuel delivery problem i.e. fuel pump or relay,
