Question about 1997 Chevrolet K1500
When I try to engage the push button 4wd the light flashes for a second, then a loud clunk from under the truck and it immediately reverts to 2Hi
Same thing happened in my 97 K1500 pickup. Turned out to be the 4wd actuator on the front axle was bad. Went to the junkyard and picked one up for $50. Just make sure you bring the old one with you so they can match it up exactly.(There's 3 or 4 styles out there for this year grouping of trucks.) Make sure the plugs match exactly.
