You have probably fixed it by now, see if you have black smoke and soot coming out the *** end, I am no mechanic but I would see if you have a hole or crack in your air Intake manifold- too much air?- if you do jb weld that ****** -- I think you still have some vacuum lines as well, see if any are sucking like a 3 dollar ******., I am no mechanic- **** I would even check your 10 dollar fuel sending relay maybe it works on initial take off (full power) but then at crusing altitude it backs off and could have corrodid points or something? (that is located in front looks like a plug in) well from one old dodge owner to another Good luck- get a neighbor over there and with a few beers I bet you all could figure it out.

Check your fuel filter or you could have water in your fuel tank...try adding some dry gas fuel treatment or you might even end up pulling the gas tank to have it drained...check that first..if nothing found there could be a fuel pump starting to go bad too

i don't agree that it could be a fuel pump or filter problem because of the fact that all i have to do is turn the ignition off and right back on and it runs fine again. if that were the problem then shutting off the ignition would not repair it. it would be consistant. everything points to something electrical. thank you for you opinion

You probably fixed it by now, you have draw on the battery so go to the fuse box and start pulling and putting back in fuses, now IF you have a draw, you will know- when you pull it out and put it back in-- see it will arc, it is supposed to be turned off (ignition) when you do this obviously. Its a good place to start hunting for electrical issues. Check to see if you have a glow plug relay bad as well- I dunno get a nieghbor over with a few beers you guys can probably figure it out. Good luck!

1990 dodge 360. Runs fine. unpredictable backfire

You want to check your timing for accuracy and then check all plug wires for burned or cracked ends. Also check the single coil tower where the coilwire connects for very small cracks. Then check the inside of the disrtibutor cap for the same small cracks. Throughout this process I'm certain you'll find the culprit. Thanks, Dana

Engine shuts off while setting at idle.

Pumping the accelerator on a fuel injected car is usually a worthless exercise--the technique works on carbureted cars with accelerator pumps. But in your case, it may be helping a bad throttle position sensor make some idle contacts come together. the throttle position sensor has a variable resistor to tell the engine computer where the throttle opening is--and a switch to tell the computer if the throttle is open or closed as at idle. This sensor isn't cheap so I would buy a Haynes manual to help you check it out before replacing it. Some auto parts stores will "read your diagnostic trouble codes or DTC's" for free. Even if your check engine light is not on, some transitory codes can get latched in memory and help you solve the problem.

Yes you most likely have a ign module problem, the pickup hardly ever fails. If the truck is really hi miles repace the plug wires as well.
