Did you seat the torque converter IN THE TRANS before installing the tranny? If not you broke the pump in the tranny. Also DO NOT tip a used tranny upsidedown it sends all the clutch and band debres into valve body. I hope this helps CJ

Why does the service 4X4 light keeps coming on I have change oil in transfer case as is reqired and 4X4 works fine

this light is truned on due to a problem with the engagement motor of the transfer case, either the motor has stopped working or the contacts that sense when the case is engaged are burnt, u will need to replace the the electric transfer case actuator in most cases to repair this problem

Where can I find a diagram on how to replace a seal between the transmision and transfer case on my 2000 GMC Z71? It's leaking trans fluid.

ther are no diagrams. It's not to bad to do. You need to remove the speed sensor(there are 3 of then) Disconnect the encoder motor, the drive shafts, the transmission support and it's 6 15mm nuts and pull the t-case back and twist clockwise and it comes out. You have to support the transmission on a jack to lift it for more clearence

How hard is it to replace the rear main seal in a '87 Samurai?

Is it a 4x4 if it is you would have to seperate the tranny from transfer case and drive shaft tp change out seal.If not just drop the drive shaft and replace seal.We are talking about the rear seal at the end of the tranny.

2000 yukon xl. 4x4 wont engage

My 2000 Yukon XL with 5300 engine had same problem at 115,800 miles in Aug 2006(I bought the vehicle new January 2000)...My GMC dealer did diagnostic and replaced a faulty 4WD Transfer Case Shift Control. (reading from the service invoice) It was GM part number 15709327. Cost for the repair was $41.48 + labor $74.13, total was $115.71...it now has 165,000 on it and so far no problem and the 4WD works when I need it.
