My 97 tahoe turns over, but will not start, fuel pump works fine, & has new plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, coil,& ignition control module,& new fuel filter, got any solutions?

Try spraying quick start in the intake.if it acts like it wants to start if only for a second or two you could have low fuel pressure.you should have at least 30 lbs.you need special pressure tester.if it doesn't fire, check for spark.if it has the "flat"dist. Cap you might want to check it because they have a lot of problems with that cap.

Well you can pay to have it put on a scope OR start replacing parts.I would start with a tune-up Thats//// spark plugs/spark plug wires/distributor cap/ and rotor if applicable.Make sure the plugs have the right gap. They can tell you at the part store

96 geo prizm 1.6l. Just had timing belt, water pump replaced. Allso, coil and spark plugs. Car now misses as soon as the water temp starts to come up when accelerating. I just put new plug wires on. Same...

I would definitely try the distributer cap and rotor button. It's about a 15 minute job and might solve your problem. As the car warms up the electrical components of course heat up too. As the heat goes up, resistance also increases in electrical connections, wires, etc. You could be getting enough current to pass between the rotor and the poles at low temps but, as they heat up, sufficient current for a good spark is not being passed along.

How to replace distributer cap and rotor button on 96 Acura TL ?

Locate the distributer cap. Mark all your spark plug wires with some tape and number system so they go back in the same position (on the new cap). Remove the spark plug wires from the old cap (after marking them) and lay them to the side. Remove the 2 Torx or Phillips screws from the cap. Lift the cap up and off. The rotor will be directly under the cap. Lift it up and off. This may take a little rocking motion while pulling on it to get it off. Align the new rotor on the shaft and push it on firmly. Place the new cap on and install the 2 screws removed earlier. Install the plug wires on the cap in the order they come off. Ensure the wires are pushed in firmly.

Just changed out my spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Now the car wont start, what is the problem ?

Recheck the firing order of the spark plugs and wires. you might have connected them wrong. Can't tell you the firing order since I don't know what kind, make, or year of your vehicle.

No spark on 96 civic changed distributer

If you have changed the plugs, wires, and distributor, then you should check to see if the coil is putting off a spark. you can do that with a wire grounding it to the engine. It is most likely the problem. If it is putting off a good spark, and your rotor button and distributor cap are good, then for some reason the computer is not telling the coil to put out a spark. On that new of a car, the ignition is electronically controlled.

Wiring order

Since your distributer cap spins in a clockwise motion, just make sure you start with 1 then 4, then in the full order to make sure the sequence is correct.
