Check the relays, the relays could cause you this issue, if the compressor is not getting any issues then that is a power supply problem that he should have been able to diagnosis when he was looking at the AC unit. Your relay will be under the hood in your fuse box, you may have to look at the manual or the back of the fuse box cover to figure out which one controls the fan and AC. It will be a bigger relay

He said he checked the relays and they where fine but what should I look for?
There is no info on which relay controls the ac on the manual or on the cover
is there a way to check if the relay is burend out? If so how? Do I remove and shake it? I. E. Clueless...

Here is where the AC relay is located for your vehicle: The A/C relay is in the IPDM (that black box next to the coolant tank).

A lot depends on weather you have automatic A/C or manual but I am suspected a volt drop across the compressor clutch circuit

please update post when you get a chance

took it to the dealer today, costing me 350.00 to put in a new pressure switch or sensor. according to the dealer it was burnt out. anyone knows where the pressure switch or sensor is on this model? would definitely like to take a look just to make sure they replaced it and to know where it is in case it happens again.

I'd still like to know weather you have the Automatic or Manual a/c System

depending on which unit you have could depend on location of "switch/sensor" but I suspect it is the thermo-control amp behind the right side of the dash

regardless...it is you LEGAL right to ask the dealer to show you the location of the part they replaced and to provide you with the old part

when you get the old part take a picture so I can ID the part and teach you how to test it of later reference

I wish I would have checked my email sooner, I picked the car up yesterday, didn't get a chance to ask for the part or the location.... wanna hear something weird.... the trunk opening switch at on the door now doesn't work... I checked all the fuses, the switch next to the glove compartment is on.... do you think they disconnected something while working on the sensor? should I take it back?

My 03 Nissan Altima wont get over 2500 rpms

first check your fuel system, replace fuel filter, also check your fuel pressure regulator on your fuel rail it may be leaking internally if ok check your fuel pump operation. if your fuel system is ok then check for a restricted catalytic converter its a common fault I encounter with them. if that to checks out ok then have the ecm scanned by a shop or the dealer could be a faulty engine speed sensor or crank or cam sensor

Compressor does not engage when ac is turned on.

If the system is low or has no Freon, the clutch will not engage. Hook up a pressure tester on the low pressure line valve. It should read 30 psi at 65 degrees outside temperature and 50 psi at 85 degrees outside temperature. If there is pressure, then it could be a fuse or AC relay. If there is no pressure, then add freon with some pag oil, plus a leak dye will have to be added to the system from the low pressure valve. Only add 1 16 Oz. can to not over pressurize the system. If the clutch engages, then check for a leak. I would recommend taking this job to a qualified technician, since he would have the necessary equipment to put the system at a vacuum of -30- To empty the system and check for a leak.

NISSAN ALTIMA A/C COMPRESSOR WILL NOT ENGAGE

I just fix my 2010 Altima
The ac compressor did not engage
the fans were both running all time when ac on The problem was the high pressure valve located on the driver's side on the condenser
This valve controls both fans and compressor clutch

My 04 Altima 2.5S AC compressor wont engage, I took it to an AC shop and he told me he checked the pressure and everything is ok... no leaks. the compressor is not getting any power as well as the radiator...

You would need a shop manual for the wiring diagram for the ac to troubleshoot it.
There is a low pressure switch and a relay involved that could prevent the clutch from getting power. The radiator fan runs when the ac is running and high pressure is above 200 psi.

Ac compressor good but wont start

You must have a leak, the compressor will not run if the system is low on charge, the charge carries the oil to lube the parts of the system. Also do an electrical jumper of the compressor cycling/pressure sensing switch.

2002 nissan altima a/c compressor wont engage & wippers wont work

it could be a conscience that the wipers stopped too, because elctricly these are not sharing any resources.
there may be a leak in the system. when the freon gets low there is a pressure switch that disables the clutch to prevent damage.

Ac compressor will not engage when ac is on. System seems to be full of gas. Quit without warning. This is on a 2003 Nissan Altima with 2.5L. Secondary fan does come on when AC is switched on.

Check A/C compressor relay. When you say it seems to be full of gas(freon) have you actually put a pressure gauge on the system? If the pressure is too low, the compressor will not engage. If the compressor relay is functioning, check for power at the compressor clutch. If it has power to it and it still is not engaging, the A/C clutch may need replacing. It is usually almost as economical to replace the complete compressor with clutch installed than to just purchase a clutch. Keep in mind if you replace the compressor you should also replace the receiver/dryer also referred to as the accumulator.

AC panel messed up compressor doesn't come on.

check the fuse first then check the wiring inside then that is OK then check the wire on the compressor it self, its a connector might have to pull  it off and then on. pulling off the compressor is a big deal its lines are a sealed system, the refrigerant lines are under pressure

Compressor

Check fuses first. If fuses are ok, than check for 12V at compressor when engine is running w a/c on. If no power is present than you probably don't have any R134 in your system. Poss. leak. Compressor will not turn on if there is no pressure in system there is a part called "pressure switch" which monitors a/c system pressure. If no pressure is pressent, the switch will not send the signal to the ECM to send 12V to the compressor. See if you have any R134a in system.
