Question about Pontiac Vibe

1 Answer

I have a pontic vibe that won't start and dies in hot weather. I will be driveing down the highway and the car just shuts off. When you try to start it it mostly doesn't turn over, it doesn't even try to come on even the radio and ac won't come on. The temperature reads normal. I have taken it to several dealers without them finding a problem. It is a 2009 and it was in a small rear-end accident before I owned it. Please Help

Could be a inertia switch that shuts off fuel to the motor in case of a accident. The next place I would go to after is a faulty coil.

Motor shuts down

Have you checked/tested the fuel pressure? sounds like a bad pump and or plugged fuel filter, check the pressure, if it is low replace the filter, if that still doesn't help you will need a new fuel pump, it is located in the fuel tank.
