Why wont car start after charging battery its an au falcon

Check you battery connections. If they seem ok then get a volt meter and check voltage at the starter solinoid. If it is battery voltage then the small wire at the solinoid have a helper turn the key to start and you should have 9 to 12 volts. If this checks ok then you should have the starter checked. If no voltage the if is a automatic then check the nuteral safty switch. or ingnition switch.

Starter making whirring noise.

When you say it won't start you mean it won't crank, right ?

If you have a duralast starter from auto zone, that may be the problem.
Aftermarket brand starters and alternators can be lemons sometimes.
A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter with the key in the on and start positions. Also check the ground connections.
Its possible the starter is not getting full battery voltage for some reason.

Trouble shoot a 2007 honda crv starter

Take the starter off for testing. If the lights were normally bright, and went dim when key was in cranking position, it means the start circuit is working-battery power is going to the starter, but it won't do anything. The starter motor is probably bad.
Good luck.

I go to turn the van on and all i get is a click, all lights come on and battery tested out fine. Tried jumping it didnt work, mechanic took a hammer to the starter still didnt work. Any advice will help...

If the battery cables and battery check out fine then test for 12 volts at the signal wire at the starter when the ingnition key is turned to start. If 12 volts is present then the starter is bad or the ground strap from the engine to chassis is not getting a good connection. You can test for the the ground by placing a jumper cable to the negative battery post and the engine.

No 12 volts when cranking? Then check relay or ignition switch.

You can apply 12 volts to the signal wire at the starter to verify it will turn.

Do the interior lights dim when the key is turned to start?

2000 F-150 4x4 with 4.6 engine has hot battery and good starter but sometimes will only click when turning the ingnition and not turn over.

This sounds like a bad starter but theres a common problem with these trucks the main battery cable that goes to starter has bad connection at that terminal going to starter, tell you what have someone hold the key in the crank postion and you pull on the big cable wire at the starter and see if it starts or if it sparks, to repair you can replace the end or replace the cable, if this doesnt help then see if theres a soleniod and check that but i would bet its the cable good luck. let me know what happens.

Manual 1994 jetta 2.0 4 cylndr . Car will not start...it will not turn...battery is still great...could it be an electrical problem? Where is a good place to start checking?

start with the fuses and the relays. some say ign or eng which is ignition or engine. if that is good, check the fusible link. if that is good, test to see if the started gets full voltage

My sons golf will not start, turn the ingnition

Hi,
Check/clean your battery terminal connections. If your battery is good, and assuming the starter and ignition switch is good, this would be a suspected culprit.
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Car will not start.

Next step is checking the battery, or replacing it.
After that, check that the 'security' key or whatever is used on that vehicle isn't messed up. Might be a fuse for that as well.
