It is called a splitter block. But it is more likely to be a bad line going into the block. Check to see if and of the lines going into the block are rusty and start with that line. Clean it off as good as you can and have someone press the brake pedal while you look to see exactly where the fluid is leaking from. If one of the lines is leaking, its best to replace all of them as another one will be leaking soon. If it is in fact the splitter block, it will be a dealer item only. Good luck.

I've got a '94 ranger super cab, my brake pedal goes all the way to the floor after stops. What causes this?

Sounds like a bad master cylinder. It could also be leaking rear wheel cylinders if you are losing a lot of fluid.

What causes my brakes to lose power

if your fluid resevior was over full when the mechanic pushed the pistons in to put the new pads on it would cause fluid to overflow out. also he may not have bleed the brakes properly or at all. fluid can come out if the cap isnt properly on fluid will push out everytime you apply your brakes which can cause air to be sucked into your brake lines.

Abs light on in my ford ranger 1999

ABS light tells you that there is some problem with the brake system like you have forgot to release the emergency brake or its time for you to change the brake fluid. Ford recommends to change the brake fluid every year.If you have recently refilled the brake fluid , check for any leaks.Abs light indicates that your braking system needs to be serviced.

Why does the brake light keep coming on when hit a bump

your brake light is probably coming on because the fluid is to low in the resevoir. ther is a sensor in the brake fluid resevoir that is on a float. if the fluid gets to low the sensor tells thebrake light to come on . so if the fluid is just high enough to keep the light off, everytime you hit a bump the fluid sloshes around causing the float to drop and the sensor to turn the brake light on. also when your brake fluid level is low it tells you that you will either need new brakes soon or you might have a leak.

I'm leaking brake fluid in my the rear my truck

Hello rodeure
The brake fluid can leak from a few places in the rear. Bad wheel cylinder/brake hose or the most likely cause, a rusted brake line.
Fill the master cylinder and have somone step on the brake while you
look under the truck. When you find the leak, the best thing to do is to
replace the lines up to the front valve (they don't rot in one spot) then
bleed the brakes and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

Ford Ranger 1994 breaking system just stopped working. No tension on pedal and on checking no brake fluid.

2 places to check 1. look at the rear wheel backing plates for moisture 2. pull the master cylinder back and look for fluid in the vacuum booster. if leaks at the rear its going to be rear wheel cylinders which will require replacing wheel cylinders and shoes. if the vacuum booster is full replace the master and booster.

98 Dodge Ram 1500 brakes go completely to the floor.

It could very well be air bound, those lines to the rear brakes are the longest in the truck. Especially if he's getting a little fluid out by gravity bleeding it. My advise is to get a vacuum bleeder kit. I got mine from an auto parts store, it honestly cost me 25 dollars, and it's a gift from God! Instead of trying to push the fluid, your sucking it out from the wheel. Works beautifully, especially if your truck has anti lock brakes.

Wheel is locking up on 88 ranger

U need to pull the rear drum off to see what's going on. Check to see if the brakes and drum look wet. There may be a leak in the brake cylinder or axle seal. The leaking oil/brake fluid can cause what u describe. Does this happen all the time, or only after using the brakes for a while? If there is some type of fluid leak, it needs to be fixed, and your should replace the brake shoes and all hardware. Let me know what u find, or if u need further help.

Rear wheel brakes lock up

It could be a couple of things..Either you have a fluid leak and its getting on the brake pads making them grab or it could be the abs system itself.. There is a speed sensor on the rear axle which also controls the abs.. That can be changed easily and isnt too expensive.. Kip
