New alternater battery checks good but somthing is draining battery this is a 97 or 98 kia sportage 2wd 4cyl

What you are describing may be what is called a parasitic load. These can be challenging to find and time consuming. If you have a test light available disconnect the negative battery cable and install the test light between the cable and the negative battery post. If there is a draw the test light should light up pretty brightly. Normally I suggest disconnecting any after market equipment such as radio,cb or any device that was not in the vehicle originally from the factory to see if the light dims down or goes out.Make a menatl note of any device that changes the light of the test light. If these devices don't appear to be the issue then start removing fuses one at a time and watch the test light. When the light goes out or drastically dims you then know what circuit is draining your battery. At this point you will need to find out what devices are on the circuit in order to find the component that is causing your issue.

Replaced battery on 98 Porsche Boxster and now odometer is wrong

I had the same problem and was about to take the car to the dealership tomorrow, but I decided to try disconnecting the battery and see if it would reset itself. When I reconnected the battery the odometer mileage went back to where it was before I changed the battery. It worked!

Maybe it will work for you. Good luck!
