The instrument cluster in this van is really a computer display and it has malfunctioned. This is a common complaint on this van and you must remove the cluster and have it rebuilt to cure the problems. Check the WEB for repair sources. They can also provide complete instructions on removal free of charge.

Ever since i got my kia rio 2003, it has ome problem... sometimes it s tarts and sometimes it wont... i can wiggle something under the hood sometimes and it will start... other times it wont do a blessed...

My 01 did the same thing, it was the main relay in the fuse box. Try taking the headlight relay and switching it with the main. If that fixes it might want to keep a few on hand, my most recent relay went out was the c/fan which in turn overheated the engine and the fan melted off the motor.

Hello,
It sounds like you may have a bad ignition switch. That may be the first thing that I would have checked.

Good luck!

I have a 1999 plymouth voyager with ignition problems . It will start and then it just clicks alot before starting . is the ignition switch pooched and if so how to replace

It is most likely the starter ,the starter has contacts in it,instead of brushes like the old days, they will do this when it is time to change the starter, not that this is a warning sign, but take it as one before it gets you stranded

Let's see if there is really a diagnostic expert out there for this... 1996 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L engine with 165,000 miles. I'm having intermittent starting problems. I can drive for weeks and no...

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. From there, if it persists, we can do more trouble shooting. Let me know and I can walk you through the process. This is definately a problem that does require a diagnostician. Thank you for the level of detail you provided!

the problem is your ignition switch.

the connection with the start contact is sometimes missing.

if you want to save money, you can trace the starter wire and hook up a push button wire to start your starter. the other lead of the wire goes to the ignition switch to from the " on " lead so that if you turn off your key, there is no accidental starting of your engine.

tnx 4 using fixya,
