Windsheild wipers wont shut off

The clutch in the wiper motor is bad or you burned up the circuit inside otherwise the transmitter to the wipers are no good you are supposed to allow the car to warm up while the defrost is on and after the car warms up and the windschield starts to melt the snow or ice then use the wipers (the wipers aren't built to push weight or scrape ice only to clean the water from the glass surface)

Windsheild wiper does not remain in contact for the full stroke. The blade actually raises off the windsheild.1995 volvo wagon. three sets of blades, two sets replaced by mechanics.

Try this:

With ignition on, turn on wiper switch. When wiper arm gets to point where blade does not touch screen, turn off ignition switch so that wipers do not return to park position. It may take a few goes to stop arm in the right position so repeat process until it is in the best position.

Check main wiper arm and bend slightly towards windscreen so that blade touches screen and there is some spring pressure from the arm to keep blade on screen. Also check that there is no interference between main arm and the section which supports the rubber blade. If you get blade chatter as the arm sweeps, twist the end of the main arm slightly in the opposite direction to the movement that produces the chatter. It may take a bit of trial and error to get it all right.

Windsheild wipers work sometimes and sometime they dont want to come on

check for electrical plugs going to the wiper motor, unplug it and plug it in a few times to sorta clean the connection tabs inside . they get water and dirt inside and it makes a bad connection. if the problem persists it could be a bad switch in the car, and maybe even a bad wiper motor

How do you change the windsheild wiper so I can replace it

changing the wipe blades is a tough one. Pick the blade up in one hand. In the center of the blade assembly, underneath, there is a button. You'll need a very small screw driver or something small to press the release. push on the release and pull the wiper blade off.

2002 ford crown vic. driver side wiper not working? passenger side works

the linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms needs to be replaced. the stud on the one side is stripped and that is why it doesn't work as it should. this happens usually when the wipers are left on in the winter with the blades freezing to the windsheild. turn on the car with frozen blades tends to strip out the teeth holding the wiper arms onto the linkage

How do I change the windsheild wiper arms?

Hi,
Open the cap at the end of the windshield wiper arm at the cowl of the Blazer. This will reveal the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the wiper linkage. Unbolt the wiper arm using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Place the bolt to the side, as you will reuse it later. Pull the wiper arm up at the blade so that the blade of the wiper is pointing into the air. Then pull at the base of the arm, wiggling it slightly. It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of work to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage. Then you can replace the new windsheild wiper arms to it.

Thank you !!

Windsheild Wipers will not move, the arm seems to be slipping on the motor shaft,

It sounds like you live in a climate were snow and ice occurs. If so a lot of people leave their wipers on upon shutting off their cars. If you happen to do that and the windsheild had moister on it or if the snow starter falling while your vehicle was still warm it will freeze. The larger the snow amount the stronger the force will be if you start your vehicle up the next morning with your wipers buried in frozen ice & snow. Since the wipers were not shut off the wiper motor will run and the wiper blades will not. This will strip the linkage the wiper arms press onto leaving you with out working windsheild wipers

Wipers

If your just changing the wiper blades, turn the wipers on and when they get to the top, take the key out. They dont move back much but its enough to change them. If you want to take the arms off, lift the hood up and use a 13mm socket or wrench to loosen the nut and then wiggle the arm off. If you need to change the motor, unclip the black molding that the wiper arms are on and you have full access to the motor.

Cant take off the windsheild wipers

Here is the procedure to remove the wiper motor. It says to remove wipers by removing the nut covers then remove the wiper nuts. Is this what your talking about?
If your talking about the wiper arms they just pop off at the swivel.
Use this link for info on removing blade assy.

I have a 1990 Dodge Caravan, and I replaced the windsheild wiper motor and can hear it running, but the wiper blades are still not working; is there anything else that I'm not checking?.....Thanks!

the wiper arms are not connected to motor somehow.I am not sure on your vehicle but some gm cars are a press fit so check and be sure the wipers are tight on shaft
