Inoperative speed sensor on a 1996 silverado K2500

There are two speed sensors, one is called an input shaft speed sensor and the other an output speed sensor. both control transmission but the out put also controls speedometer,

To replace any of these is not hard, they are bolted on the outside of transmission, you will remove the bolt holding them in and then they slide out, the input shaft speed sensor is located on the front left side of the transmission. the output speed sensor is located on the left side of the transfer case. good day

Location of speed sensor on 2004 silverado automatic transmission

the speed sensor is located generally on the tailshaft housing or in other words where the driveshaft slides into transmission has a small black sensor with a couple of wires going to it. those trucks have a bad problem with the cluster going out on them though. more than likely that is going to be your problem. you have to take cluster to dealership (new one) and they have to burn the current mileage into it.

Antilock brake system engages on low speed stops on dry pavement on my 2004 Silverado.

The most likely cause is rust buildup under wheel speed sensors causing them to dislodge(lift up) from front hubs and read incorrectly. If recall has been performed to fix this problem...You may have to replace the appropriate hub in order to stop the ABS activation at low speeds. Let me know if i can help more.
